Been missing the sound from the MPPSK on my previous f30 340i and have come across https://www.motechperformanceshop.co...0ix-g22-m440ix and just wanted to check if anyone has purchased this from Motech as the official BMW line is the M340i MPE is not available in the Uk.

I have called Motech to confirm it would fit which they have done but just wanted to canvas opinions. Cheers.

Cheers, I have read that and all the other threads which is why I called the vendor to confirm if it would fit. Was hoping there was someone on here that had it fitted successfully by Motech.

Looks like it can be purchased a little cheaper from BMW main dealer here.

Ah I'd ruled out the MPE as thought it wouldnt fit LCI models as LCI has the MHT B58TU2 engine and thought that the MPE only fitted B58D or B58TU1 engine.

I see the Motech listing states B58D also.

Looked into this a bit more and it's got to fit as you have to cut the stock exhaust in the same way as you would do fitting any other aftermarket axle back system. None of them are bolt on.

Yes seen that but when you call them they advise it’s not actually for sale as they just dump the bmw parts catalogue onto the site. Thanks though.

Interesting picture below which I found over on the US sub-forum. Shows the pipework is different but I'd imagine any half decent exhaust shop should be able to sort it. The USA reference is effectively the MPE exhaust fitment.

Ah thank you, that's really useful. I see they've modded the MPE pipework and left the stock side as it is. Makes sense as can then re-fit the stock muffler before selling the car on.

Motech are clueless when you speak to them, they claim its plug and play - yet all the evidence shows that on an EU car there are some modifications needed to get it to line up. Minor work granted, but frightening that they don't seem to know this, despite having a photo of it fitted!

They also cannot provide any sound clips which seems another own goal!

I was able to get my dealer down to £2,050 when I enquired a couple of weeks ago - and I'm very tempted!

Yep would be interesting to know what dealer will sell the MPE as all the dealers round me flatly refuse to saying the part is only for use in a race track in the Chinese market as it is too loud for public roads 🤷🏾‍♂️

Not directly comparable, but my F36 440 had an MPE with a resonator delete. It wasn't particularly loud and certainly not into noisy Merc territory. But it did drone horrendously so it went in favour of the MPPSK, which is probably louder, but thanks to the valves, not all the time.

Is your car an LCI?

TU2 only is fitted to LCI2 cars, which have only just started to be delivered within the last couple of months.

LCI1 cars feature the TU1, in 48v MHT form.
