No, there's a cutout for the 4th tab in my car however I have a 2023 M240i. I would think the start button holder would be exactly the same as on all G chassis cars.

Nope, it’s not. My console did not have that 4th cutout so I had to remove that 4th pin to make it exactly the same as the silver start button.

Would love to have the OEM red button. Unfortunate that you can't just buy one from BMW.

Did you have to take anything off of the back of the button prior to installing? I purchased the same button from amazon with different distributor but same manufacturer. My button at night, only emits an extremely little bit of light. Just checking prior to attempting to remove the button to check the underside.

did you end up removing the button to see if there was anything on the underside of the button blocking the light from coming through? Nothing else is removed other than the button.

I’m afraid there is no OEM reference /part number as the button only comes with the complete console unit.

Today i did retrofit of Glass aplication Start/stop button. Its is original one (not aliexpress one) from X5 G05 console.
It is imposible to change it on front, because support for glass start button is different. To change support its necessary to disassemble whole console.
I also changed the part with gearbox lights with M one from G05.
Gear knob is also from G05 OEM one.
I am waiting for oem glass volume button and iDrive controller.

Got mine from Ali express. Better to pay less than 10$ to compare to prices I’ve seen such like 45-80$ for a piece of plastic.
YES, you can see the light through it when it’s darker out there.
PLUS it came with a sticky mold paste which was really helpful to remove the standard one in 5 min.

Forgot where I got my red start button, but it also game with the sticky stuff -- indeed, made it easy to remove original

Your console looks great! Where did you get the blue parking brake switch? Is it just a paste on cover on top of original? Does it stand out above the rest of console?

Thank you! I like how the colours talk to each others on the console

As for the parking cover, it came from the same website, made in aluminum, really nice, yes you have to peel and stick on top of your Parking brake button, the icon and text aligned pretty well on top of the original one.
But yes as you have to stick on top of the original one, you can feel it with your finger that is slightly offset like 1mm max.

Honestly it’s really well made for what it is. You can choose red, grey or blue. You can notice if you’re not touching it, cost less than 10$ I think, aluminum made, makes the job.

I don’t see why I’m gonna pay the full price for something which came from the same factory ahaha.

It fits perfectly and light pass through it with no issue when it’s night time.

I’ve posted a photo a few comments above where you can see it looks like the original one.
The font written on it is the same than the OEM one. It’s just red instead.
You just have to be careful on ALIExpress cause some of them are not well made.
I’m very picky as I’m working in design/art field So if it wasn’t that good then I wouldn’t bought it

Now if you feel paying 45 bucks or more for a coin of plastic then your choice

I’ve heard it doesn’t fit on some recent model but on my 2020 330i it does.
