BMW nowadays have electronic water pump that still runs for 5-10 minutes after ignition is off, and that specifically is done to cool the turbo, so there is no need to idle after a drive to c.

I have a 2021M340i xdrive with just a pinch under 70,000 miles on her. Absolutely fantastic car. Zero major issues (unsurprisingly). Low coolant once, just needed to be topped off. Low oil once, stangly, when oil was low I did not receive a notification that it was low until it was " at minimum level" and needed an entire quart to bring it back into spec.
Tampa Florida area roads are typically higher speed than many parts of the country, daily average over 85 mph on the highway for example. No issues with the Florida heat and summers.
This car has been an absolute pleasure to own, I have owned 2 other 3 series and this one is a great example of the ultimate driving machine. I recently ordered and am awaiting delivery on a 2023 6 speed M3 in Dravit Grey which I am looking forward to. But I am going to have a really hard time handing the keys to my M340i over to the dealer.
Terrific car!

Foremen also cautioned to follow exact ZF process to drain external oil cooler as well, or else fill level won't be correct.

It is true that the clutch packs aren't covered, but if your cars are bought new rolling off the truck with known history(e.g. no high-temp/high-load/track/uphill/towing/autobahn speed), it is likely your ZF8HP should keep shifting with minimal issue way past 100k miles.
Does the mild hybrid 48V m340i have the 15 year/150,000 mile emissions warranty?

Or are you just saying generally that PZEV cars have additional warranty?

BMWNA provides 15 years/150000 miles PZEV warranty up to model year 2017, and then switch to 15 years/150000 miles TZEV warranty on hybrids since 2018.

The F30 328i and 330i have PZEV warranty up till model year 2017, and then the F30 330e gets TZEV warranty in model year 2018.

The G20 330e has TZEV warranty.

The G20 330i and m340i do not have TZEV warranty.

I had some issues with the 48v hybrid system on my old '21 M340i. It was in and out of the shop several times. The dealership FINALLY identified the issue and it was great after that.

So far, I haven't had an issue with my M440i GC, which has the same B58 + 48v mild hybrid system.

What issue did the dealer finally fix? What parts were replaced?

It was the belt, assembly and cooling pump that was leaking. It was connected to the mild hybrid system, so it was causing the car to throw power faults.

I just recently bought a 2021 330i and I pulled into a garage today just to ask about an extended warranty that I purchased, asking if the company was reputable.

In doing so, I happened to ask him about what was the most common issues with the car that the warranty covered. He mentioned a lot of things related to suspension which were covered.

I find this hard to understand. It's not like I'm going to be racing it or off-roading.

Anyone care to explain why these cars have so many suspension issues, if he was right? I would say I'm one of the most careful drivers around. No wreck in 18 years. But plenty of potholes I suppose.

Congrats on your new ride!

Mine is also 2021 330i and it is a great car.

I haven't read about G20 suspension failures/issues on forums, but some G20 owners do complain about stiff rides and such.

If ur car is still under 4 years/50k miles warranty, u can ask the dealer to check for any suspension issues to fix under warranty. U can ask the shop foreman to test drive your car and address any harshness/noise/squeak/rattle issue.

Might be referring to the known suspension “clunk” that actually was finally acknowledged by bmw. There is now a TSB out. However, please note that it seems only a certain percentage of us encountered the “clunk”. It does not affect performance.

The B58 is known to consume oil when pushed hard and frequently. With that said, I have tracked multiple days and during hot California weather….. and I’ve never had to top off. Conversely, after making 2 round trips from San Francisco to LA and daily small trips to the gym and 5k miles, I had consumed about 40% of oil. So it really is dependent on driving, weather, speed, etc. black stone labs is always a great reliable source to find out any good & bad that is impacting your motor oil.

Can’t believe its almost been a year since I started this thread lol. Thought I’d give an update on how things are going with mine. This year I put about 19k miles on it and I’m still in love with it. I did have to have a couple of issues addressed. First one was the active shutters. One of the shutters became loose and ended up throwing a check engine light. The shutters were replaced under warranty and all has been good since.

The other issue was a rattling noise coming from the sun roof area. The rattling wasn’t that loud, but was starting to get annoying. I took it in for one of its services today and they just let me know that it is actually a known issue BMW has a fix for with some special part. Don’t know all the specifics yet, but they let me know that the rattling is coming from some component in the sun roof mechanism. The service advisor made it seem as if it were an easy fix, but they have to special order the part, so my car will be at the shop for about a week. The dealer gave me a new iX M60 as a loaner, so no complaints here lol

Other than that, haven’t ran into any real issues with the car. Loving every mile so far!

Weirdly enough, I got a CEL for the rear Daytime Running lights while I was trying to change the ambient lighting color with BimmerCode. After I reversed the setting, it cleared. Other than that, I'm at 11k and no issues so far. I even asked my service advisor about the extended BMW warranty and he told me to wait until just before the standard warranty ends.

I swapping the pads out to some EBC reds for less dust and kicking around the idea of a catch can but other than that, she is pretty good as is.

I have a 2020 M340 with Xdrive; car has 52K miles on it and have tracked several times. Other than routine maintenance and changing out brakes & tires, the only problem I've had was an oil level sensor that went bad.

Hope that helps!

Same here. 2020 M340i with 31k miles. Zero issues.
I did have the oil sensor go bad but I did hear that it is pretty common and dealerships will change them out with a newer metal parts instead of plastic.

I did get that changed and now it is working perfectly. I bought mine so I also care about the longevity of the car.

I do not have any concern about that at all... B58 is a marvel, a closed deck system with some forged parts. Heat encapsulation system that can greatly reduce wear on engine parts.

I am pretty confident that if you are diligent on oil (s) changes and maintenance schedule, our cars will last a long time without any issues. Wouldn't be surprised our cars last more than 10-15 years.

They had their trial and error for last few decades and it feels like the current G20 is the vastly improved ones. Many issues has been addressed on this car.

I decided as its a long term keeper is to use Shell V Power every 4 fills or so and annual service changing oil and filter to keep the engine running happy for the oncoming years

Hmmmm. Why not every fill? Did that with my 2014 435ix was bulletproof for 6 years and 110k miles including stage 2+ Tune for 5 years and 60k miles, and currently doing it with my M440ix. Obviously did all the other maintenance as well. 5k mile oil changes, 20k mile spark plug changes. All other fluid changes kept up with as well.

Just to save some costs, it's more expensive fuel and I don't think it needs constant cleaning i.e. every refuel
