how is the quality of the cars being made during pandemic conditions?

my lease is up, and I actually would prefer to buy out out, but not getting a good deal, so I'm weighing all options. Might lease or even finance a new 330i. They feel nice, but I do wonder if the shut downs and chip shortages are going to lead to less reliable cars? Don't care about factory location, seems that BMW does a good job of QC at whatever plant

Shouldn't have anything to do with the quality of the vehicle. Only real impact it's having is availability of certain options, that's it. I wouldn't fret over build quality.

You're wanting to buy out your lease and not getting a good deal? You're buyout is your residual which was disclose when you originally leased it. What kind of deal were you expecting?

If that's your thought then your bad leasing period. You obviously went into your lease very uneducated according to this post and your other ones.

Ok here's what you do. You find out what your lease buyout is, bear in mind with 10 months left you may be charged an early lease termination fee. Once you have that then you can approach places like Carvana and Carmax and have them appraise your car with their offer. Compare the 2 and see if it makes sense. You could also contact your original BMW dealer and get their appraisal also. The one thing you have going for you right now is with the micro chip shortage and dealer new car inventories low, used car values are sky high. Hope this helps.

In some cases leasing is safer as BMW's can be too expensive for out of warranty repairs. For some reason BMW calls leasing OwnersChoice.

Considering the BMW 330e with almost no options.

No idea what pricing is for the i4 is but the i3 has had very little changes and look outdated now.

My G20 330i is 3/2021 build@Mexico and was picked up one month later with 5 miles when rolled off the truck.

Compared to last bimmer, a Munich built F30 328i(frist production year), this San Luis Potosi build G20(3rd production year) has better fit and finish and zero rattles/squeaks.

It seems that this G20 is built like a mini-5, while F30 is still an entry-level 3.

copy that, thank you for the advice, I will do this before making my final decision, and I'll keep my eye out on the residual if I go with another lease. thanks

Did u test drive a G20 330i or 340i?

Your current car is a 2018 F30 330i, correct? If so the engineB46) in G20 330i is the same as your current car.

And yes G20 has better chassis design and handling characteristics than F30, it brings back the nostalgic feel of the E39/E46 eras.
