One positive I am seeing, is they seemed to have found a way to hide the drive assist radar sensor in the giant grille. You could barely notice it off to the right below the plate on these images, hopefully that stays true enough in person.

If they didn't change the design, everyone would bitch about BMW being boring and not innovative enough.
I bet M4 is gonna look brutal.

It may not work correctly to you, but then the tall grills obviously don't work correctly for a lot of people either. Which is the lesser of two evils? Very possible, sure. I think we will also see G22/G23/G26 bumpers with shorter grills. The designer will obviously have freedom to make the grill wider than the OEM grill as well.

The only problem is that G22 has killed G20 for me. And I need 4 doors, but my lease is ending this December so G26 won’t be available. Sigh.

Some people just like complaining. It's too different, not different enough, too small, too big, too quiet, too loud, too stiff, too soft.... On and on and on and on....

As I said on the other thread, my opinion stays the same. The G20 is better looking from every possible angle.

The G22 is plain and simple just a very ugly car.

Hope the G80 takes the biggest part from the G20 and just the not so bad parts from the G22.

Yes.. bet their graphic designers and marketing guys are busy at work as we speak. Still kinda sucks you would have to take a brand new car and modify the appearance . Prolly won't be cheap either. As many have said tho wait to see the car in person and live with it awhile.

Not so fast. We have not seen the true M cars grill yet. Very possible it will be different. Larger yes, but different.

I like the G20 styling from almost ever angle as well (normally I'm a coupe guy but I don't like the G22). I think both the A/S5 Coupe and C300/43 Coupe look better and they are older designs.

The new 4 series looks like the G20's ugly sister. for me that new grill ruined the whole front end. If I was gonna sell my F32 and get a new car id go with the G20 or F8x. I'm interested to see what the aftermarket will do with the grill on the new 4 tho

Seems like the G22 is growing on people, or at least more people are opening admitting the like the styling now that it's out. I went ahead and added a poll to help track it.

Yeah, I've always thought of this only as a way to hide unpolished black trim pieces on a cheap Hyundai or something similar from the past, certainly not something we should have to do in this segment. Hell, I got my X7 M-Sport in White with Shadowline because I thought the contrast did the car more justice.
