So, when I ordered, all I knew was that having an allocation was a very important thing in the process and reduced wait time significantly. When I went in, I repeatedly confirmed with the dealer and the sales manager that they DID CURRENTLY have an allocation for this vehicle and would use it for my order.

I got my production number 25 days later. A couple days after I learned that I should have gotten it when I placed the order and went into their dealership to make a fuss about the fact that I should have gotten the production number by now. I was told to trust them and that there were some issues with brakes which caused my order to be delayed and not receive an instant production number. I know better now.

But anyway, I didn't get my production number until like 8/27 even though I put my deposit down same day you did. When I put the deposit down I was told it would arrive on or near 10/31 lol.

Sounds like they didn't have an allocation for you, but wanted the sale.
If a 440, it's going to be 3 months. The plant in Germany shut down for 5 days, not a big deal...

Located in southern Bavaria, the Dingolfing site is currently on a hiatus. It stopped making cars on Thursday afternoon (September 12) and won’t resume operations until Tuesday morning (September 17). Contacted by the business newspaper Automobilewoche, a BMW spokesperson confirmed the production pause is caused by the two issues we mentioned earlier.

I spoke to a few different brokers and dealers and they all said it was tough to get the allocations for the 440's. Luckily for me, one of the brokers were able to get me one with the status at 112 already, although it was a bit further away then I would like.

Yeah, I heard about that incident and that occurred after I had my production number too lmao.

Anyway, it is in delivery right now, finished all the production steps today. So it just has to get from there to here, I guess.

So just for data points:

My M440 GC entered the production queue, a few days went by, exterior body assembly and paint shop happened in about a day, the assembly process took about 2 days start to finish, and then it basically skipped to "Dispatched from factory."

As of today, I'm "At the port" which, as I understand it, can be a couple weeks until the next step.

I was at the port on 9/25, hoping for delivery tomorrow (my dealer told me to keep the day clear) or Friday

Yes, It has Pirelli tires and yes, the car was prepped before pickup. I took that pic before I drove away.

Couple of quick notes...

The key fob is def lighter, but I chaulk that up to electronic components get smaller and I actually prefer it lighter in my pocket

Center of steering wheel is not leather. Both of these changes were noted by another blogger.

Seat bolsters went away when I added ventilated seats ask noted by another blogger.

I drive 8.5 is noticeably better than iDrive 7. You can just ask it to play a song and it finds and plays for example

Dealership had issues setting up the eSim (I'm an xfinity mobile customer)

Engine cover has a big M badge

Adaptive suspension - my first take is that it's great. I need to turn it off and try without, but not sure why you would.

Car is whisper quiet and HK stereo is great

I'm scheduled for ceramic coating on Thursday and will post a few more pic when done

That looks so darn good. Congrats!!! Im doing the same mocha ventilated seats. Hate that the bolsters go away, but love the color of that interior. I would do Tacora but no ventilated option

The reason I asked Pirelli tires has OEM factory Road hazard warranty, not sure 1 year or 3 year so any cut, puncture, flat Dealer should be able to replace tire for free. No need to get Discount tire or other tire warranty since M440i doesn't come with spare.

I usually take car with protective sheet to the ceramic guys. but its ok.

Great tip on the Pirelli's - I'll check that out. 245's front and 255's rear by the way, car feels attached to the road. Adaptive suspension + NRF's

Dealership did not mention anything. I did not buy any packages. Last time I bought a AAA package for $1600 for 60 months (tires/rims, dent and key), but I refinished 3 rims which would be $175 each if I were paying out of pocket. It's like any insurance policy, the ins co usually wins!

Emailed Sales guy lastnight and he got back to me this morning. He stated the ships name, the car was loaded today and it would dock on 11/13. He expected to get the car around 11/20 but I tracked the ship and it docks today, sent the screenshot to the Sales guy and he was shocked and will make some calls. Seems the car was really loaded on 11/01. I might get this car early and I am excited.

I saw the link to Wallenius (posted below) in another forum. Ours has been at the port since 18 October (today is 6 November), so using Wallenius I was thinking a late December date at the earliest. I suppose BMW may use other carriers as well, as I just got a note from the dealer indicating that it will arrive the first week of December, much quicker than the posted Wallenius schedule.
