I have a Feb 2020 M340ix.
Last week I used Bimmercode for the first time. One item I coded was the ASS. I set it to be off by default. I always use Sport Ind, and coded my car to start like that, so obviously ASS is not active in that mode anyway. I (very) occasionally use Comfort (when I'm in a parking lot and there are speed humps). When I now select Comfort mode, ASS is off by default, and I have to hit the button to turn it on. Exactly what I wanted. I have tested switching to Comfort at different times - its always off, when, prior to coding, it would have been on. So it seems to work for me. PS: My dealership did do a software upgrade in January 2023 so I have that version of the s/w. Last edited by cyam; 07-12-2023 at 12:20 AM.. |

it has been fine over 3weeks. I don't see any possibility that it can cause. it will only work when the key is nearby(or with digital key) which means it will not draw any electricity when we are away. |

Thanks for sharing the video. Are you with iDrive 7 or 8? What version of SW are you at? I have a 2020 G05 just serviced by a dealer to solve blank screen issues with software update. I believe SW version is 07.2023 now. I found bimmercode stop turning off ASS anymore. Wonder if this eliminator will work up to certain software version. Or if it will work with future SW upgrade too. |

But the Canceller will work with any software version. It is not coding. You are adding a hardware that will cancel the auto start stop when you get in the car |

Can you tell me which code is it? I tried this but it doesn’t do anything… maybe I got the wrong code? I know how to code so it’s definitely not that… just need the correct code(s). Thanks.

It used to work, but after the 2023 BMW software updates, coding it off with BimmerCode all the time no longer works. Instead, I coded it to start up in sport individual (where ASS is off), and then configured that mode with the settings I want.
Basically, my sport individual now defaults on start-up to be like comfort mode with ASS off. If I want a little more aggressive response I just push the shifter left and put the transmission in sport/manual. |

My car updated to 3/2023 like 6 months ago over air download - aside from having to recode my 4 color custom interior lights, the only major downside was the deletion of the ASS code out as everyone else is noting.
I have done the BimmerCode "start in Sport Individual" method to initially have no ASS on startup which works fine. . . That said, the whole point of having different modes for different driving experiences is a little defeated at this point. I often use the Adaptive mode when highway cruising because i find the suspension to be the most comfortable and I want to sit back and listen to music while casually passing people who drive in the left lane at 53mph on my commute. It's incredibly annoying that I have to turn off the Adaptive Mode just to not have the car turn off when I come up to my first traffic light post cruising. Not everyone wants to drive the car in the same modes - letting us customize the drive is supposed to be part of the purpose of the different modes in the first place. There is no reason someone wouldn't want comfort settings without ASS active! If I wanted a fully electric car I would have bought one - I really strongly dislike this stupid feature being slammed down my throat. As others have noted, the implementation is not like other cars. . . I find it incredibly annoying that the engine turns off when coasting to a stop at <10mph. It's already surprisingly difficult to bring the car to a perfectly smooth stop because of how the regenerative brakes engage in the first place - they get extremely grippy as you slow down below 5mph and it makes you feel like a rookie with the brake pressure. TLDR: I'm incredibly unhappy with this ridiculous forced ASS move. Adaptive mode is something I never gave a chance to *before the ASS force, and I think is highly reduced in desirability because of the change. Now I have 3 modes - Sport+ which is too loud for driving up and down my quiet deadend street (I respect my neighbors, and I also wish I could turn off the loud nonsensical cold start, but that's a different story), Adaptive, which is pretty great for most situations but too quiet for when I want to be really spirited and also now autostart stops, and then Sport Individual which is a dumb combination of comfort and sport settings now just so I can have a driving mode default without ASS. WHY?

Dealership updated my 02/2020 M340iX to latest s/w.
I am now on 03/2024.25 I had to re-code my Bimmercode settings. ASS does work for me. I can set "remember last setting" and that works, plus can set ASS to always off and that works for me (I can still turn it back on with the button). But it always worked for me, however I never updated my BMW s/w as I am tuned. Recently I allowed the dealer to update s/w which I knew would relock my DME, but I did it anyway, so this was the first update in over a year for me. One side issue - Bimmercode's latest update has a glitch - two modules are not codable, but they are fixing that and will have a new update soon I believe. |

Oddly enough though I can change my head unit (m sport up to 200mph) and the M start up animation. Those seem to be the only ones to work for coding. Hope updates coming soon from Bimmercode. |

Source on this? I just got updated to latest S/W and I can't use the module to turn off seatbelt reminder. Also having trouble coding off the ASS. It's set to inactive but keeps turning back on

That's great news! Are you still not having any luck with coding ASS off? Did bimmercode mention anything about this as well?
