New to bmw , b48 tuning?
So i’ve never had a bmw before. I wanted a m440 ofc. But a 430i was my budget. I dont know much about cars in the sense of tuning and stuff. I know shes just a 4cyl so she is quiet.
Im not sure what type of exhuast to get. I also dont wanna be the person who has a car thats so loud but so slow. I need something in between, that sounds nice but not crazy. Any reccomondations for a newbie? |

for the best sound, get the active autowerke catted downpipe. its a big sound upgrade without being obnoxious
as for the tune, Jb4, racechip are both excellent options for simple daily driver power upgrade safely

I would say Stage 2 tuned by Bootmod3 is best bang for buck, good sound, pretty quick (already much faster compared to stock). Get yourself alloy CAI from Armaspeed (good price, massive intake pipe) and any brand catless downpipe will do the trick. If you want more sound and still feel it’s too quiet, I suggest hollowing out the resonator and secondary cat, replace it with an aftermarket resonator. I got the vibrant ultra quiet resonator and it’s great. Stock muffler. My 330i is way past this point now but I believe this was the point when I had the most fun and spent the least, while also not worrying about anything breaking. Hope my 2 cents helped |

If you aren't doing any hardware mods a JB4 is the best solution
If you're thinking of doing anything in the exhaust, you'll want a dedicated flash tune (BM3 or MHD) For reference my 520i (mechanically a 30i engine) with a 200cpi downpipe and opf/gpf delete makes ~290hp (to the crank) measured on a 4wheel dyno with boost limited to no more than 20psi (OTS tune from bm3 will go up to 23psi if you don't limit it) A JB4 on a 30i on a custom boost target map with E50 fueling will be doing mid 300s crank power. A G20 30i (xDrive) on just a JB4 and mixing ethanol at the pump has done 4.5s 0-60 (real 0-60 without rollout delete) |

I share this opinion. All I did was put a JB+ on my 330i xDrive and it really transformed it from something that was "good" to something that was actually "interesting". For me at least, more horsepower would require more 'car' all the way around. I have a base model and I'm not looking to turn it into a demon-just make it a little more fun.
