While the render in the article seems exaggerated, the rumour of a much larger front grill that spans below the bumper on the M3/4 is quite strong.

This render, while not accurate - I'd hope, does approximate what we've been hearing in terms of the front design aesthetic mimicking the Hommage/I4 concept's grille.

I don't doubt that the grill will look different from the current F80. But I HIGHLY doubt it will look more like this render than the current F80.

That's a bit overboard I would say.

blackout kidney grill will cost $1000 from iND if that's the case. Owner's might lose fingers during the install as well.

You can doubt it all you like. I wish I could doubt it as well!

Unfortunately, insider Scott has said that the new 4er and M3/M4 front will be similar to the i vision dynamics concept which has a very large grille. Once you look at that concept you can see what the photoshopper had in mind when making the above render.

Further, Scott has commented that photoshops showing grilles similar to the F80 or G20 need to have a bigger and deeper grille.

I've added just some black lines from what I could see in the photo posted above to where it looks that you can find edges to the grilles.

The outline traces well but you can clearly see when zooming in on that picture that there is a midline creating two separate grill elements not one large element.

Well, s***! My apologies. I stand corrected, quite unfortunately.

Hopefully BMW can pull something off to make this work. Either way, it's making me even happier with my very recent F80 purchase.

Look right above the two round sensors that are on either side of the license plate. Running on top of the sensors is one of the horizontal bars from the grill, they seem to be attached to it and integrated into the grill.

To me it looks like the grill runs all the way down behind that camo. That would coincide with Scott26's sketch, he drew one tall twin kidney grill that isn't separated by a midline. He also said in a post the license plate will feature within the middle of the grill.

Also though the false nose cone you can see the full length twin kidney grille, octangular in outline similar to Vision iDynamics and the hook nose in the centre which also doubles as the bonnet catch.

The licence plate will feature within the middle of the kidney grille.

Exactly and thanks for digging up Scott26’s quote on twin kidney grills!

I don't hate it. I would hope they put more of an angle on the front chin to work a bit like a scoop.

Nurburgring times better be 7:05??

Since it seems like the out lines of the grill (except having twin grills ) will be near a copy of the i vision dynamics concept I wonder if the hood and lights of the 4-series and G8x will also be very close to the i vision dynamics concept? They are integral components in making the concept look good with that grill shape.

Here’s a good angle to see the unique hood shape to compliment the grills frame. It could also explain the seeming lack of a power dome...

Yikes lol thankfully I don't think it'll look like that. I think the grilles will be way more angular, and there will be some kind of "mouth" below them. I think the grilles will sort of overlap the mouth so the grilles look like they have more depth and look less upright/flat. Like the chrome border of the grilles will overlap the black "mouth" to make it look more 3-dimensional. Dammit, I wish I had rendering skills lol.
