Question for a BMW Technician
I have a 2022 M340i that is having a slight water pump leak. I would like to bring it to BMW but, I have modifications (intake, charge pipe and AA downpipe)and they are already aware of the intake and charge pipe. Will they not warranty to water pump because of my mods?
If so, I am capable of doing it myself. I would just need some info to make sure I have everything I need before hand. Then there is always the option of having it replaced by a shop. Also, is it worth contacing the Service Manager at the dealership and asking how they would handle this situation. |

They'd have to prove the mods broke the water pump, which would be extremely far-fetched. I've had my motor replaced with an inlet and charge pipe installed.

I am familiar with the Magnuson Moss Act but, BMW is some how not warranting parts on vehicles due to modifications. There are a few video's on it on youtube. Spoke with a service advisor yesturday and he confirmed it as well.

Just to give everyone a follow up. I took the car over to BMW and they did warranty the water pump. A failed seal in the shaft caused a leak from the weep hole (typical failure). I dont have much expericence with how BMW handles repairs but, I have seen some horror stories out there. Overall it worked out good and there really was no way my mods could have caused the failure anyways.
