OTA Software Update

Hi,

Has anyone had an OTA Software update in the UK yet?

I picked my car up on 12th March, and its still on the software edition 11.2018.61

I have read recently that they had sent OTA updates out, but nothing for me

I think that is the latest software.

I picked my car up in March, so looks like its had the old software installed, and I am yet to receive the OTA update...

I recall reading there is a newer update than 3/2019.48 but that might be through dealer update only. Not sure.

If BMW keeps with their typical iStep schedule, 7/2019.xx should start soon through dealers. OTA is anyone's guess but don't hold your breath for anything OTA soon.

I’ll have to have a look what software is in my car, but mine spent a day at the dealers last week having a software recall done. I don’t know what it was for

I can confirm mine is 03/2019.48. That's after the dealer recall last week

I had mine at the dealership yesterday for software updates, picked it up last Saturday (delivery) and was running 03/2019.22 now it's running 03.2019.60
No OTA updates in Australia yet either.
Can you guys confirm that you have network access in your car via the onboard sim. ie traffic updates, weather, news etc? I still have “no network” errors

From what I’ve been told OTA updates aren’t available everywhere yet
and .60 can only be done at the dealership

a question - how the OTA updates work? Do they use wifi or via phones BT?

It actually uses the onboard sim and data connection to download. The ios or Android app (when it's finally fully operational) will notify you of a new software update and allow you to start the download via the app in the car. Once it's downloaded you can then start the install.

Alternatively you can just search and start the download from in the vehicle
in the idrive itself

Mine was updated to .48 a few weeks ago at the dealers and since then the flashing ambient lighting when the doors are open has stopped working. Has anyone else in the UK suffered a similar issue. I’m wondering if it’s been programmed out. I can’t find any settings that relate it in any of the menus
