Max tire size M340 Square setup

Hey Folks,

Anyone know the max tire size I can fit on a M340xi that came with square setup 19"? Wanted to swap the runflats.

I have 19 on M340 and it came with 225 square all season (Bridgestone) - wanted staggered ( 255 or 245 ) on the rear. Did you ever test fit the rear with 255? I've consulted several on this forum that believe they won't fit and advise against retrofitting with 255's, but uncertain on the 245's.

For comparison, I have the 20inch BMW forged wheels and I put 235/35-20 fronts and 265/30-20 rear. vs what BMW put which was 225-35 and 255/30. Mine have room still but obviously I didnt want to throw off my spedo too much.

I wonder if running 245/40/19 squared would cause any rubbing? Or any downsides in particular?

I'm thinking towards winter tires and sizes are limited. I'm leaning towards 235/40/19 squared but could consider 245s or 255s if they'll fit up front. Bump for any measurements or test fits!

255/35/19 Fits

I have a 225/40/19 - 255/35/19 Rear and i have no problem, fits perfectly. Mind you i have a 10mm lowering.

Am considering 235/40/19 - 265/35/19 next. With what i have noticed i can push 265 rear....i am certain with confidence cos i have weight in my trunk with this set up....don't ask why....i hit curves at 90+ miles.

I belive with 235/40/19 - 265/35/19 the car will look bastardly insanely beautiful.

They are 8.5" wide...

I'm just curious why did you go with the 40 series instead of a 35.

Do you have any pic's by chance?

They are 8" wide from the stock 225 run flats for sure.
I wanted less gap so a taller tire helps with that and better for potholes.
I purchased 2 8.5" rims for the rear and have 265/35 on there.
Pics once I get home and pick up from the dealer.

Here are some pics from my parking lot this am after pick up i have one stock pic (last one, before tint and front splitter. )Black wheels are hard to see in the pics but the best I have so far.
Still need spacers, I think.....
Gap is WAY better in person.

Nope or at least per the dealer and from what I can tell so far. They feel great. 265/40 on the other hand DID NOT work.......

My M340i xdrive also came with the 225 square all season setup.

I would like to swap out the tires for the Conti DWS06 as I have run those on several cars and loved them.

They do make the DWS06 in the stock size (225/40/19), but thought about going with something slightly wider like a 245 series.

BarryB said the 245/40/19 size fits on the stock 8-inch rim, which I assume is what I have on all 4 corners with the stock square setup.

Any thoughts on going with 245/40/19 for all 4 tires?

No issues with rubbing even at full lock? You mind posting some pics so we can see how the 245s look on the 8" wheel?

This is what they told me at VMR

The recommended fitment for your car is going to be 19x8.5 ET23-25 in the front with a 225/40/19 tire and 19x9.5 ET35 in the rear with a 255/35/19 tire. This is based on stock to mildly lowered ride height.

2x VMR Wheels V802 19x8.5 ET35 5x112 66.6 $365 (12mm spacer + extended lugs advised)
2x VMR Wheels V802 19x9.5 ET35 5x112 66.6 $365
