M340i Touring Black close

I finally have proof my car exists and is at my dealer. I have been promised it on Thursday next week. They are charging it now so I hope the battery is ok after sitting somewhere for over 2 months!

I would suggest asking to see diagnostics report for the battery as my car arrived pre-lockdown and it turned out to have a bad battery due to being left to fully discharge prior to collection. I only discovered this once it went into BMW post-lockdown!

Thanks Chris. I will do that. One other shot shows the dash with a message saying battery ok and 71% so not sure if that is a good sign or not?

Most likely it is at 71% charge then. The problem with my battery was that it was unable to hold a charge properly and so the car had an error warning that it needed to be replaced.
No doubt if you highlight to the dealer in writing that you want confirmation it has not been fully discharged and is not damaged in any way, you will be covered if something goes wrong with it.

Merino Leather......Is that Fine-wood trim oak grain open-pored? or Interior Trim Aluminium Fabric high-gloss BMW Individual?

Yep Merino individual leather and the Aluminium Fabric high gloss individual trim. Hadn't seen it when I ordered it so I am looking forward to seeing it for real. Hopefully hearing today if I am getting it Thursday. I am taking it straight to a detailers for a proper ceramic coating inside and out so no proper photos until next week.

It is even closer now. My salesman has been unfurloughed and is sorting the car and paperwork now so I can get it tomorrow. I will take it straight to the detailers and then hopefully get it back at the weekend.

It is closer now and parked on my drive. The dealer didn't touch it so lots of plastic and dirt from sitting at Southampton docks for 2.5 months. It goes to the detailer today back Monday.

Congrats and although I've said before that I'm not the biggest fan of black wheels the car does look rather lovely.

Very nice, black also looks the best when clean so it will be good to see it on Monday. A few rainy days ahead so not a bad time to not have it for a few days, especially to get it detailed.

It is in. The detailer was very pleased BMW had left it so untouched. It may not be back until Tuesday though sadly. It was great to drive it the 30 minutes to him though even with keeping revs low. An nice M240i came alongside at one point and had a good look, but I still managed to keep it gentle as only up to 20 miles now!

Black with a little more black! Looks great although personally wouldn't have a black car as they are only ever clean for about 30 mins post-wash. I'd end up having to wash it every day!

I know! Hence the ceramic coat and the bulk buy of Bilt Hamber snow foam recently!!!

I am also getting a very exciting water filter for my birthday soon to allow me to rinse it and walk away.

I've never found you can just rinse and leave it, there will still be some small water marks so I end up drying the car anyway

Hi Richard, I am getting the Raceglaze one which claims zero ppm of minerals left to help. But hopefully it will help stop too many water spots and mean I can dab it dry to avoid swirls etc.

I can confirm the Raceglaze filter does work. I’ve been using it for a while as recommended by my detailer.

You just rinse and leave to dry and no water spots but it will start to leave spots if the filter residue needs changing
