Temp PPF when picking up new car

My M340 is still on its way to Baltimore port and will hopefully be at my dealer in the next 4 weeks or so (crossing fingers.....we shall see)

The dealer I was able to order from is a little over 2 hours drive, high speed (75mph speed limit) most of the way.

I plan on doing nice xpel PPF on front of car, but for this initial drive home from picking it up I was trying to think of ways to protect it as much as possible until I can get it put on.

I'm looking at Xpel Tracwrap or Track Armour that I could slap on the front fascia and the front of hood before leaving the dealership, but I have seen some poor reviews where the paint/clear coat was affected by this type of temp PPF (residue, actual clear coat removal, etc).

Anyone have any experience using these products? Do you think adding a quick layer of a spray wax/coating would help to avoid having any issues with negative paint effects or residue issues?

Appreciate it!

I wouldn't bother. It's a two hour drive. Just keep your speeds reasonable, keep your distance from other cars in front, and stay away from big semis.

Thanks Burrcold

I know I'm probably worrying wayyyyy more than is required. Hell, I only have a couple chips in my current F30 in 4.5 years of ownership.

I did track Armour for my 3 hour drive after pick up. It gave me piece of mind driving the highway for 180 miles home.
