I never thought of that, no issues using domestic socket.

I use it every few weeks. If I'm stuck for time, I'll just do the bonnet, boot and top of half of car. It's a slow enough process for doing the entire car but I think it's worth it.

This was my car after a snow foam (Auto Finesse Avalanche Snow Foam), wash (Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax), machine dry and wax (Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax).

First time using Ultimate Liquid Wax and it was very easy to apply.

There's much better products than Meguiars Liquid wax - their Ceramic Spray Wax is better, as is Turtle Wax Sealant and Ceramic Spray.

I got some of the Finesse Avalanche Snow Foam to try and it seemed to work pretty well TBH as a pre-wash. I also got some of the Ceramic Foam to try but haven't used that yet.

I was surprised how quickly the dispenser emptied though but that might be down to me not being familiar with the dispenser.

So do people use Bilt Hamber "Auto-Wheel" on 791M bicolor alloys with no issues?

No issues for me and I've been using it for nearly a year. Great product and I won't be using any other wheel cleaner.

Cracking product - it's pH balanced, so shouldn't have any negative effect on diamond cut wheels. I only use it when the car hasn't been washed in a few weeks though, otherwise I've got a wheel shampoo.

It's definitely a little steep price wise although worth every penny (IMO), but will last a good while once you get used to applying the minimal amount required.

Personally I find it quite easy to clean my 791M bicolour wheels by hand, so I currently only use the BH product once a month, what with doing very few miles (2.6k in 7 months). Plus I am washing mine twice a week at the moment (MSB loves sand coloured rain)

I have been using it for at least 10 years without any damage to the various diamond cut and bicolour wheels fitted on the 2+ cars on the drive

I've also been using it for the last 5 years on 4 different cars with no issues.

Question for those of you who use a DI tank. Do you have it in-line for the whole of the wash, or do you just connect it for the final rinse?

Only the final rinse. I use a gentle flow to basically displace any other water on the car. I spray it into any trouble spots where I get drips after washing so that they do not leave water marks later. Seems to work on my black car.

So, novice here... whats a DI tank? (guessing deionised water?). Not sure how that is incorporated into car wash routine.

A couple of other questions whilst here please...
  1. my screen is full of fingerprints. Just wondering what most use to clean the screens? Spectable/Screen wipes ok to use?
  2. also, have a fair few marks on the back of the M Sport seats. (the plastic backs that the kids kick constantly). Any recommended product to give them a good clean and bring the shine back?

Thanks in advance.

1) use a lens cleaning cloth. I got a Zeiss one from Amazon which is A4 sized for about a fiver and it cleans it perfectly.
2) use Armour All or similar

DI is de-ionised water, as you say. I don’t follow the chemistry of how that prevents drying marks but apparently it does. Distilled water I’d sort of understand.

A DI takes all the dissolved solids out of tap water. So when you spray it on a car and it dries it leaves no marks at all. I have a little meter to test the water. Total dissolved solids goes from 200 to 0 with my DI vessel.

As I said above rinse the car at the end to remove soap and if you miss any bits then no water marks are left. Great on a black car.

Those of you who use foaming products, and in particular the Autoglym three stage process where two of them are different foams, how do you get it off your driveway afterwards? It seems like stubborn stuff! Is there a way to kill the foam?

This seems to get good reviews:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AquaHouse-f...s%2C144&sr=8-3

I find drying marks on my Mineral Grey very bad as I live in a very crap water area. It's a bit cheeky that they advertise this as de-ionised water though, it's just a filter. Properly de-ionising water cannot be achieved by filtering as it's a chemical process.

Might give it a go though.

Sorry missed your reply.

This one is very popular....

https://www.raceglaze.co.uk/race-gla...14-litre-tall/

But I got one like the tall blue one on the webpage from a window cleaning company, Vyair.

https://www.vyair.com/en/0835-high-p...city-blue.html

Cheaper and bigger, but you have to buy the resin too.

Works well and we use the water for steam irons and cleaning where you do not want water marks. This also keeps my wife happy!!

Reviving my thread, as I had a productive morning cleaning my Mineral White G15 and my mate's Brooklyn Grey G22!

I have to say, seeing them in the flesh the G22 is a fantastic looking thing, and Brooklyn grey is a cracking colour!

Looks great but how long will that shine last. I’m going to get my M340i ceramic coated. They say with touch ups it lasts up to 3 years with that polished look
