I would like to formally add the category of "true M car" drivers to this list. Mostly a bunch of insecure whiney bitches about how THEIR brand is too diluted and they don't feel special enough anymore.

I digress.....

I'm glad others are feeling my freeway speed madness lol.

On this board you'll see plenty of M car Douch bags. Any update about the new M3/4 there's always trash talking about the M340/440i and how they dilute their car or mad about the M340/440 being offered in "M" colors. Talk about insecure.

used bmw's have become like the younger generation hoon mobile. I mean theres probably the same number of used mercedes, audi and bmws sedans sold or approximately the same.

but with the enthusiast community of bmw being so much more, used bmw's get into the hands of well younger enthusiastic drivers who have graduated from JDM imports etc. So yeah theres probably more erratic driving from bmws in general. I see that in LA. theres bmw night cruise groups on facebook / whatapp and you know they all drive more aggressively. There aren't mercedes or audi groups for that or if there are they are much much smaller.

I've actually noticed the insecure ones are the "M performance" guys who deep down know they aren't part of the M club, but crave acceptance into it.

It's probably confirmation bias, I see anywhere from tens to hundreds of 3 series a day in the city and rarely are they driving like psychos.

Anyway, on this BMW reputation problem we seem to carry globally, there are enough knob jockeys in the UK to share across all the brands

I was in walking distance of one at my last apartment. In Boston, A4/C-class/3-series are plentiful. They are the go to yuppy cars. I say that as a driver of one myself

Or just in a big city. I counted 50+ in about 10 minutes on a drive out to get dinner pre-pandemic.

I'll have to try this... I live in Chicago and don't see nearly that many in a day.

I was being facetious about suggesting he lives next to a dealership since I assumed there was some exaggeration in the "hundreds" figure, but now you're saying you've counted 50+ within 10 minutes??

Most 3 series I see are 330 or below. I rarely see M340i's and the occasional M car.

I've done this with Tesla's in my area once lol. Counted about 15 within 2 miles from home.
But yeah I'd say the 3 series are pretty common here as well. Just starting to see more and more G20's driving around, but only a few of them have been M340's

BMW has always been the drivers car in the luxury segment. So this just attracts people to BMW who love to drive fast. It is much more affordable than say a Porsche so BMW also attract younger crowd of drivers who love driving fast luxury cars hence BMW most likely will have a higher ratio of "douchebag drivers." Just like how Toyota has what we call "Corolla drivers." Toyota/Lexus compared to say Honda/Acura are more comfortable/luxurious driving so they attract a greater amount of drivers who drive slower who just wants to put around in a comfortable car.

Actually speaking of Corolla drivers, they are some of the craziest and terrible drivers in my experience. I've been involved in 2 accidents where the other driver was driving a Corolla, including one rear ending me at a traffic signal and another pulling out in front of me out of nowhere without looking. I get nervous when I'm around Corollas now.

Imo the BMWs are predictable though - I can almost count them to shoot the gap and cut me off; ride my ass; weave through traffic like I would on my motorcycle.

It’s the Prius driver with their left turn signal on who dives 3 lanes to the right just to miss their exit and swerves back into the middle lane that scares me.

Predictable beats unpredictable every time.

Worst drivers ever as a whole are Toyota Prius owners. Camping out in the left (passing lane in most states except California) and going slower than the right lane. If and when they do attempt to pass it is a robust 2mph more than the other lane. Assholes!!

In Texas though, the real problem are pickup trucks! They drive them like sport cars and try to weave in an out of traffic. Most are jacked up two extra feet to ensure they have the right amount of room for their massive "manhoods". No care for anyone else on the road.

Alot of BMW drivers are pricks, but the they are definately not the worse.
