It was working this morning but probably too early to say it’s fixed. It did seem like there could be issues at the BMW end.

So I have Alexa working and its good but at the expense of loosing Carplay. No music or maps etc. It seems that every time I update the system I have issues and it really is one step forward two steps back.

Has anyone had the same issues?

So there is the answer. My Samsung phone on android will not be able to set up the Alexa functionality through my BMW connected app!

That explains why I have been going round in circles for the last few days trying to enable functionality in my car.

Yes and Alexa won't work with android phone at the moment even if you set it up using an Ipad like I did. You need an iphone to run it at present.

I don't use car play to be honest, not sure on the kiddy look of car play...

It wouldn't surprise me though if this was another bug.

Not sure why they have rushed out releasing something that fundamentally doesn't work... or at best works some of the time.

Ironically mine has been faultless today (4+ hours travelling). It'll probably error all day tomorrow though.

Mine is working with CarPlay. I tested it at the weekend to see if all three voice activations could work in parallel. Hey BMW, Hey Siri and Alexa all worked.

It might be worth an iDrive reset if it’s messing you about and the other less destructive things haven’t worked.

Just out of interest on you iPhone what do you have your location access set to for the BMW app.

Is it 'while using the app' or 'always'?

MyBMW is set to While using and Connected is set to Always

Funny the instructions mention how to connect with an android phone yet it’s not supported yet.

I am having the same problem. I get the screen above. I have done all the items except you cannot connect with bluetooth audio while using carplay? Siri and Hello BMW work fine and I get the Alexa blue circle but then the screen shown above.

I can confirm - doing the reset vehicle data works to add in the 3rd party providers option under voice control and now Alexa works !

So started the car this morning and my Carplay is back working but with no Alexa. I am getting the same error as many others. I give up

Help.. downloaded the latest 11/20 update but don't seem to have amazon alexa option .. not too sure how it should all work, tried Google search but not much out there on it , some references to my bmw app and using the profile tab to activate and link amazon account, though on my app this is not an option, using a samsung galaxy note 10, any help would be appreciated..

Ok so I was having all of the issues above. Following endless resetting and re-installing of the phone connection, I decided to delete my personal profile and create a new profile. The login process for the new profile seems to have solved all my problems.

Now I have CarPlay working alongside Hey BMW, Siri and Alexa with Spotify connected, also get voice calls on MS Teams and Whatsapp notifications.

Just need lockdown to be over so I have somewhere to go and make use of it all.

Did you delete it on the car or on the MyBMW app or both?

I think as others have said this is intermittent. I have no idea why, however I have tried Alexa 4 times this morning at 1 hr intervals. It worked 3 of those times without issue so I have decided to stop trying to diagnose the fault otherwise I am going to forget what changes I have made LOL

It is slowly getting better. It started off been once every so often it would work. Now its once every so often it doesn't work.

Hopefully it will just fix itself over time.

Oddly enough I only use it to see if its working - I've no real intention of using it much once i know its all working ok

I actually want to use it. I find it useful for a few things I do as I work away from home. Won't be driving until Saturday so hoping it will work then, although it hasn't worked once yet!!
