My personal opinion, but i struggle to understand why someone would buy a BMW sports sedan and then drive in eco-pro? You could have spent less money and went with a Japanese offering with higher mpg.

I see you're in Atlanta. Gas here in Los Angeles is currently $4.39 a gallon for 91. I drive eco when I'm commuting, and save the gas for my 2 hour canyon runs every week (in full sport mode). I'm also a cheap bastard. But no thanks to driving Lexus/Acura/Anything else.

Drive adaptive most of the time, sport or sport + to get the full fun factor of the car and hear the glorious sound coming form the MPE.
Not sure if eco pro setting works. I will have to test some time or maybe not. Didn't buy $60K performance car to worry about a few cents of fuel savings. |

It’s just a work car and 30k miles per year x getting better mileage because I hit a button...count me in. The fun car is parked next to the 4.

The only reason I've ever used eco-pro before was to give myself a time out if I felt I was driving like a jerk.
In all my previous BMW's I could never get above 25 mpg average on the BC. With this one, I've watched my mpg climb every day and when it reached 30mpg I started using eco pro more often. I'm up to 30.5 now but when it levels off and stops climbing, I'll probably never use it again except as punishment. I don't buy BMWs as economy cars, and I don't really care how many mpg's my cars get but seeing 30+ average is kind of a challenge to see how high I can go

I only use ECO PRO if I'm in stop and go traffic or using cruise control at speed. In stop and go traffic, ECO PRO does an excellent job of conserving gas.
For reference, Premium 93 here is around $3.70/gal. Conserving gas helps to ease the pain a bit. |

I remember if I kept it around 55-60 MPH, I could eek out 25 MPG. Push it up above 70, and you're below 20 MPG. It's kind of insane how efficient this M340i is by comparison. |

Sport individual 90% of time and it’s mostly city.
Everything in sport except steering which is comfort. I’ll probably drop down to comfort more when I get bored of it. Tried eco plus once and it felt like I was driving a truck. |

The roads are definitely one of the best perks of living here. So are the CHP hiding behind blind corners with their mouths watering they're generally cool car people themselves, especially the BMW bike cops. They don't ruin the fun unless you're really being reckless.

Driving around 60 MPH, I switched from Comfort to Sport. The car went from silent to having a burble. I wasn't expecting this from a straight-6. It makes the engine sounds like something special.
