Charge from the front or from the back?

Need to top up my battery on my G20 330e (for the OTA update) and was wondering if you can charge it from the engine bay where you have the big red + or do you need to put the clamps directly on the battery in the trunk?

Charge it from the engine bay as doing so from the battery directly you run the risk of cooking the battery sensor.

Yup that's what I did but apparently the battery is already full according to this charger https://smile.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GENI...enius+5&sr=8-5
Highly unlikely as the car gets 5 miles a week for over a year now (unless the EV charger is charging that battery also?)

And ofc I still cannot install the OTA update.
Thinking about doing the 12V repair on it but apparently that pushes a higher current and might upset the car electronics

Will leave it on the normal charge over night as it still "conditions" it apparently and check tomorrow

That's exactly what it does. There really is no need to charge the 12v battery in a PHEV as long as you don't run it 100% on gasoline.

Nope the hybrid charger doesn't seem to charge it enough for the update to kick off. Had to put a charger on the main battery over night and then it worked.
I think it needs it to be at 100% or very close to it

That's strange.
It should give plenty of charge.
I drive my car in the electric individual mode almost exclusively, it can be more than a month betwen the times the ICE gets fired up and I really have no issues with charging. Everything except the electric motor is powered by the 12v system so I should have been stranded a long time ago if it didn't get charged by the standard level 2 charger.

Yup same here, I've been running electric only for over a year now and never seen the low battery warning but maybe my dashcam in park mode is slowly eating away at the battery.

Installed 07/2020 yesterday without any issues at all and I have never charged mine, apart from the normal L2 charger, since new back in 2019, so it might just have been a coincidence that your upgrade started then.
Downloading took forever though even though I had downloaded it to my phone.

I guess this update gave me a valid reason for buying a new mobile so I can use Android Auto. The one I have never received an update to anything higher than Android 9.
I tried apple carplay on my work phone but it just looked too ugly, I hope AA looks nicer.

It does but I think it's a bit stupid that it doesn't use the full screen on google maps and wastes a lot of it with the clock on the left side.
Unless there's a way to hide that and expand to full screen and I haven't found it yet...
