windshield polish

So there was a sand on the road, and there was a wind... And now I'm left with a sparkling windshield. I only see the sparkles under direct sunlight, there are millions of tiny, really really tiny spots.

I was thinking about doing a cerium oxide polishing, by professional.

Does anyone know, are there any coatings on G20 windshield that might get damaged?

Use griots window polish with a buffing pad. Then a microfiber to buff clean. That gets anything off. They also make glass polishing pads for a DA buffer that works well too.

I took delivery of my 330i xdrive on Friday April 26th. It was raining, and the first sunny day since I picked up new car was yesterday so I took it for a cruise. The windshield of this car is covered with what look to be millions of tiny specks, it looks dirty. Now it has been rained on and whatnot, but that's about it. After getting home I worked on it a bit with some Windex and some microfiber towels, and these things are not coming off.

So I am in the same boat as the OP but I was never behind any detritus-spewing vehicles during my 3 days of ownership. I would have never noticed this at the dealership as I took delivery inside due to the weather.

I wonder if this is a warranty issue...could the car have come this way? I can't believe this is something that happened in the 87 miles I have driven the car. Most of the time it is not noticeable, but when the sun is just right, it looks like I am looking through the windshield of an old farm truck that's been beat up for 20 years.

If the dealership will not do anything, I will try this Griots polish, I hope that would help.
