Turbo Transformer G20 330i LCI installation question

I guess I'm going to have to install this thing my damn Luddite self. That said, I have a question: Once I've plugged it into the respective sensors, where do I place the actual module/little Race car in the engine bay? I saw a Racechip install video where the tuner placed it under the panel on the upper right hand side of the engine bay, however the TT has nowhere to ziptie it in place.

And speaking of tie, should I be zip tying the TT harness wires to other wires in the engine bay? (that's two questions.)

Sorry for all the questions, I can't find any G20 installation photos online, and there are only two TT vids that instruct on plugging in the harness and nothing else.

Thanks in advance! (This is why I wanted to have a shop do it, but apparently San Diego sucks for that kinda action, Cotton.)

There's no need to zip tie it. Wrap it up well with bubble wrap or something and make sure no moisture gets in. Or you can just leave it as is. My JB4 is in that panel, not zip tied. And it's been fine. Almost 4 years now.

So now I'm pissed. I can't get the pipe pressure sensor off to attach the TT harness. I followed the instructional video to the letter, pull back on the locking tab, push the tab down and pull. It's like it's glued on there or something.

This is frustrating beyond belief. Again, I can't find a tuning shop in San Diego who I can pay to do this; they either don't call back or say they don't install piggybacks one flash tunes. So goddamn frustrated right now, I might as well return this thing and call it a day.

It’s one of those connectors that once you figure it out it’ll take you 5 seconds the next time. While I can’t help explain in words if you haven’t already done so take a look at YouTube videos that may offer you different angles etc good luck stick with it

Okay, apologies for the earlier rant, got my head in the game, did some zen/meditation/I Ching, and successfully completed the installation. So now I'm one of the few/proud/TT crowd.

I have it set for the Power default. I've driven twelve miles and no CE light so we're good there. Only issue now is it's a holiday weekend and SD 5.0 are out like flies on cow patties, so I may have to actually drive to Mexico to give it a run. Did one on-ramp pull and there's definitely something there... there are a few threads with other G20 330i folk with a variety of settings, so I may use a couple as template and test away.

Will report back, but so far, so good. Thanks to everyone who threw out tips/tricks/advice. Greatly appreciated.

You're exactly right. Once I finally figured it out, I could do it one-handed. The second sensor was so easy I started wondering if I did that incorrectly. OCD is a bish

I used it on my M4, and it's an excellent tuner for the price.

It's a simple device that is easy to install, provides a noticeable HP increase, safe, and allows you to do some modifications using your phone.

In my opinion, it's the best-value simple tuner.

I think it's pretty great so far...I primarily run the Power Default mode, which is more than enough for daily driving. I've also been through a few threads where other 330i TT users generously posted their custom "tunes" and found one that seems agreeable with my car, so I'll run that every so often.

As I'm just getting familiar with a piggyback ( always ran flash tunes on prior inline 6 turbo Bimmers) I'm still unsure if I need to consistently have the actual app open when I'm in the car. Sometimes I'll close the app and then the custom tune reverts to Power default when I start it up again. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it. Power Default feels like the old 300 HP N55, if that helps as a comparison. The custom tune I run feels like about 20 hp or so more than that. I am on CA 91 octane, with about 2.5 gallons of E85 mixed in; online calculators say that's about 93-94 octane, give or take.
