From a 428i to a M340i Xdrive

This week will be a week I have been looking forward to for a long time. After about 5 years I will say goodbye to my beloved 428i. After 107,000 km it's time for a new, more practical car.

A disadvantage of the 4 series coupe I think the long doors. It was sometimes quite a challenge to leave the car in busy parking garages. Also for passasiergs it was not ideal.

Apart from that, I have had a lot of fun with this car.

In the beginning it was standard, then I adjusted the diffuser, blackened the grill and added some carbon details.

A coupe is absolutely the most beautiful. Tough line, nice and sporty and after 5 years I notice that the 4 series is still a head-turner.
I had one accident in those 5 years, and it wasn't my fault.

Yesterday I washed her for the last time:

I will miss this car for sure, but I'm realy looking forward to my new ride. I keep you updated.

Beautiful car. I prefer a coupe look but there is no denying four doors is more useful. Loving our m340i xDrive and you will too. The power bump from that 428i will be huge! What's your color/spec?

It's early!
Already at my dealer, Monday I can pick it up!
Dravit Gray, with a full Black Merino leather interior.
Here are the first photos.

Man, I can't wait to drive it.

Congrats!

I'm also waiting on a dravit grey m340, so I'm loving all the recent pictures of that color. I love how different it looks in different lighting.

Dravit is such a great color. I got my Dravit M340 xdrive in April, having come from an Estoril Blue M235. I was worried I might get bored with a gray car, but was wrong about that! Dravit Gray is much classier than the Estoril Blue in all situations, but ranges from a flat mineral Gray/charcoal on cloudy days to a light milky gray in indirect light. And then with sunshine you get the stunning gold flake showing through. All versions of the color are classy, but the gold flake really gets attention in sunlight.[IMG][/IMG]

Thanks for the description!

I think your pics didn't attach though.

My last car was a dark gray/graphite lexus IS350 which I loved. I then moved on to a blue Infiniti Q50, and now have the dravit grey m340 on order which I'm super excited about. Can't wait to see it in person in different lighting!

Yes, the pics wouldn't attach through my phone, so I just added to my post through my laptop. I don't have a great photo in direct sunlight, but will try to post one tomorrow if it's sunny!

Thanks!

It's crazy, just looking at those pics you'd never guess it was the same car/color.

Yep, the darker pic was at the dealer when I picked it up, with no natural light. The second pic was in a parking garage, with indirect natural light. Unfortunately it is difficult to get an IPhone photo that does justice to the gold flake I. Direct sunlight, but I have had a kid of about 8 years old walk up to the car and ask his dad if the paint has gold in it (as in the metal, not the color). He was mesmerized.

Great looking inside and out!

Merino leather unfortunately isn't available in the 3 series here in the US, otherwise I definitely would have opted for it. Getting merino in the X5 and it's so nice.

Love it! Black Merino would also be my choice but maybe with the sensatec dash I'd have to see both options in person. thanks for the pics!

The Extended Merino Black interior with Walkanappa Dash, looks very posh and lavish indeed! Unfortunately only available in Canada for m340i.

For G20 330xi only, we can select either leatherette dash with Merino Leather seats OR Walkanappa Leather Dash with Vernasca Leather for Canada, boo! no extended.
