LCI in Bmw speak is updates to a vehicle in production aka lifecycle impulse ...

Often they do whatever enhancements they think the model needs to keep it fresh ...be it tech, body, or powertain enhancements.

Look at the 22 X7 vs the 23 X7 for reference...maybe extreme updates or pretty minor

Those saying they won't change the grill, I wouldn't be too sure about that.

It won't go to the old kidney style but they may tweak it and make it look more like CSL hommage
They have tweaked M grills in the past.

I mean we have never seen a 2.0 facelift so who knows what we will get.

Agreed.

F90 got a new grille shape with new slats, and completely new headlight shape and bumper design.

If you are referring to the posts in page 1, then OP was asking if they would go back to the traditional design and everyone is saying no.

  • There will be another special M3 model in 2024-2025, either another run of M3 CS (based on LCI2) or something similar.
Any timeframe on the official G80 LCI SOP?
I assume it's 07/23 but who knows

Their power bands require awd to properly put down the power. A stick and awd would be a modern 997 turbo, that would be awesome.

We saw the exact same thing with the last gen f80

M3 Rear tails and interior are shared with the 3 series sedan and lci update with the 3= lci 1

M3 shares its front end with the M4 so front end/headlights lci update with the m4/4 series = lci 2

i'm guessing EV, a faster i4, which has been selling very well, rave reviews.

that's an easy thing to make, no extra R&D needed

This just accidentally discloses that the M3 CS of MY24 is only LCI1 based, not the M specific LCI2 based.

AND, the LCI2 is MY25.

Based on which this said new special model will be.

Its gonna be different for this platform. We have been told that G8x would get an official LCI (unlike previous generations) inaddition to the updates from regular 3 and 4 series.

LCI for G8x M3 / M4 confirmed https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1950402
