Will the 93 octane tune that adds 50hp be supported by BMW warranty?
thanks
The Dinan+ variant of tune (91/93 octane) will carry the factory matching warranty like is tradition with legacy Dinan engine tuning. Stage 1 will not as it will give access to race gas and E85 maps and be a bit more aggressive (but cheaper).

Dinan product line is geared to be 100% legal (including emissions). As a result our tunes are not designed to be used with non-factory DP's.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. This means that if I have a catless DP the with the tune I’ll be looking at the check engine light? Or can that be turned off? (Understanding that the maps would still be conservative/legal)

Catless DPs along with a a Dinan tune would result in a CEL. We would not turn off the light. Doing so is considered defeating an emissions control device and therefore illegal and subject to fines.

How does Dinan North Americas Premiere BMW tuners not have the capability to unlock the dme's on M340i's. 95% of M340i's have locked dme's. There are many tuners out there such as Mission Performance who have cracked these Dme's a while ago. You would think Dinan would be easily able to crack them. Props to bmw for making it harder and harder to tune. There will always be a route around it if they haven't realized yet.

We have 100% been able to unlock these ECU's since day 1 using various assortments of tools including our own. Dinan's difficulty currently lies in the infrastructure to get the user at his or her home, the ability to flash their own vehicle. When Dinan made the switch to Dinantronics (Tuning boxes) years ago, that current flash infrastructure became quickly outdated as it was only a maintenance item from that point on. Using the current dealer flash portal, it lacks the ability to bill the customer directly. So the current workhorses at be behind the scenes are planning out and executing daily the next steps to bridge the gap. There are at home flash solutions coming from Dinan sooner than later. The exciting part is, the brainstorming has already begun for the most efficient, user friendly flash mechanisms that will be the ultimate end point for Dinan that we as engineers have been asking for all along.

They need to make their own flashers and perhaps a app or something like MHD. They need a widespread flashing solution so people don't have to take it to a dealer and it causes a headache. And hopefully with a flash we can adjust burbles, speed limiter, etc. We shall see what comes in the future.
