If anyone in the US has successfully gotten the 07.2020 update can you please let us all know how you got it?
I'm getting extremely frustrated waiting for this update that according to BMW NA's response has no timeline and just to wait. That defeats the purpose of providing your customers with OTA updates. I know people in Europe and elsewhere have received the update but has anyone in the US received the OTA update to 07.2020? Or have you just had to make up a complaint to the dealership to get updated? |

Only very few people in Germany have received the update via OTA. Everyone else is still waiting, even in Europe and Germany.
Only way right now is to have a dealer install it. I agree that this sucks! |

Well, to answer your question directly, my car has received update 07/2020.45 -- BUT got it from dealer, not OTA. My SA said I should now receive updates OTA -- we'll see. As for Android Auto integration, I can choose to use either BMW nav or Google Maps to navigate -- map is displayed on iDrive and directions appear on iDrive, instrument panel & HUD, though background map on instrument Cluster is gone. "Lady Google" also provides verbal directions, though sometimes the voice sounds different. Also, Spotify, Pandora, MLB, Calendar, News, Weather, Podcast & Amazon Prime Music are also available through Android Auto, But I haven't tried them. Oddly, I can't get Email-- I had that on my F30 & even on a '19 540 loaner. All in all, I consider it a win for those of us BMW drivers in the majority with Android phones. BTW, I have a Samsung S8, running Android 9.0 Hope that helps!

Is have not read about anyone in the US getting any 2020 version updates OTA. Some people got 11.2019 OTA though. I got 07.2020 by waiting to take my car in for the rear camera recall

I am on 07/2020.xx. Got it done at the dealer. Seems to be the only way unless you want to wait forever. I just went in and complained about various software related things.

So I'm at the dealership now waiting for my "software related issues" to be resolved and hopefully get updated to 07.2020. I complained of the screen restarting a few times, etc. I asked if they could check for the latest iDrive software.
My SA seemed a little too harsh with his diagnosis. He said they will diagnosis the issue sometimes they have to replace the entire head unit 😳. Let's hope that's not the solution they come up with! Haha |

Nice! My dealer wouldn't update my vehicle and even went as far as saying I had the latest version already.

I requested the update when they had my car for 10 days for a 2 hour recall for the Steering Gear Tie Rod.. They did not flash the update. Still on 11.2019

My car was delivered March. ConnectedDrive remote engine start, lock and unlock were not working since then.
I had gone to the dealer 4 times with the same issue over the past 7 months and they did not want to update my software. Only last week when I went for the 5th time, they finally updated me to 07/2020. I had been on 07/2019 before. My ConnectedDrive finally works, as well as android auto |
