I got notification of the OTA last night so I'll try and do it today!

Same here. Last night I got notification to update to 07/2020.54. Hope battery is sufficiently charged so that I don't have to make a long journey in order to start installation.

How long did it take for you guys? I'm sitting in the car now and it turned off on it's own and I have no idea how long I need to wait for. It said 20 mins but there's no progress bar or anything

Update: okay, so the update is finished. It did take approximately 15-20 min. It says the changes will be available on my next trip since I went to do it on my lunch break and didn't drive anywhere. Also, the car alarm went off randomly when I locked my car but it did that yesterday too when I got in the car so idk if it's related to the update.

is there a specific order bmw is pushing the update out? maybe based on vehicle production date.

Yes! It's installed but I haven't had time to look for all the new things. The AI will roll down the driver's window now. And her lights look different and show up on the instrument panel too. I was really really hoping for the Apple Digital Key but it's not there.

It updated to 07/2020.54.

It updated to 07/2020.54.

So basically 4 months delayed from dealerships having it vs OTA.

I suspect the 11/2020 update will drop soon for dealerships and we might get it by March. Better than a year waiting time I suppose.

Good point, certainly isn't regional since both these vehicles are on opposite ends of the country

I suspect there will be, but I have no idea if it's going to be the case. I'm simply basing it off of previous updates over the last 1.5 years and what their software release cadence has been.

I suspect there will be, but I have no idea if it's going to be the case. I'm simply basing it off of previous updates over the last 1.5 years and what their software release cadence has been.

There always is, I steps going back at least 10 years after increments as a March, July, November (-03,-07-11 after a 2 digit year). Then there's patch releases after few weeks (5xx)

Has anyone with an ECU remap performed the latest 07/2020.54 update yet?

I'm running stage 2 BM3 map on my 2020 B48, so I had to unlock the DME to perform the map.

I don't wanna do the OTE update if it's gonna screw this up.

The DME is locked with different security with 07-2020. It'll get bypassed at some point, but I think right now it'll just wipe out your tune and not let you re-apply. Best checking with PTF

PTF have confirmed that I should not update as they fear it'll lock the DME and leave me with a bricked ECU.

My 2020 Z4 just got the OTA update day before 10/29/20. Took about 1 hour drive time, then 20 min in the garage parked. Everything seems to be working fine. I was worried about the wireless Android Auto, but it works great. And the navigation instructions appear in the headsup!

NYC here, updated to 7/2020.54. Can use Apple Maps in Live Cockpit and HUD. It did erase all the coding I did though which is annoying.
