i4 won’t compete with the Model 3, the BMW will be more expensive in all configurations.
Possibly, but it should be. The Tesla materials are complete garbage so I would expect them to be cheaper.

We still don't know of i4 pricing, but regardless a loaded Model 3 is $67k, even if not equivalent models, there will likely be an overlap in pricing. A Cayenne is much more expensive than an X5 yet the two are still competitors, same can be said of a G70 and 3er. The i4 and Model 3 are of the same class, luxury compact, and people today are cross-shopping the 3/4-series against the Mode 3 despite price differences. A Model S is considered a Mid or Full size vehicle.

Fair enough. I fully expect an i4 to look better, be better appointed, but also cost $15K to $20K more across the board. Which is probably the same as Cayenne vs. X5?

Useless teaser.

It doesn’t show the hood line (which will be there) and the giant & useless kidneys (which will be there)

This could be the game changer within the world of BMW car enthusiasts. I enjoy the advantages of electric driving for two years now and I will never buy a pure ICE for the rest of my life. Even renting one in holidays is a torture now.

But no matter what, Tesla will stay ahead due to the specific architecture of their core control system, which is genius and unique not only in regard of update possibilities. An exisiting Tesla car is already prepared for many future features on its hardware side. And every exisiting Tesla behaves as an element of their central KI System which learns from the behaviours of the cars in certain situations and at certain locations. And that knowledge comes back to every of their cars. I doubt that such a comparable system is integrated in the i4 or the iNext.

No doubt the i4 will be an exceptional car with perfect battery management, 100% reliable charging capabilities like I know it from my both first gen i. I really never had a single problem with that. Read what E-Tron and EQC drivers experience with their cars still today. This brands are really way behind and should worry.

But after reading some in depth reports of Tesla technology analysis by other manufacuters and independent specialists, I know, to get Tesla is a different game since that's not only a matter of building reliable EVs with a good range.
Mr. Diess, VW CEO, is one of the few guys who really understands what's the point. I guess Mr. Zipse too, but he won't let us know. As we say here: Don't wake up sleeping dogs.

They surely will and I agree with your thoughts on the tyres.

If you think about any drag races featuring Tesla's v 'normal' fast cars most of the ICE cars begin to overtake around the 120-140 mark.

Exactly why Porsche added an extra gear on their new Taycan.

Some of the iNext features look like they may have been applied to the i4. Wonder is any of these will find their way onto the i3X

I have an E90 also with interior by Rubbermaid
, but when a car is at least 10 years newer it better be nicer.

this is what I wish my GT's side profile really looked like. just a bit slimmer and sleeker.

never been huge on the i cars, but with BMW's disappointing designs lately, hope this one hits the mark.

Car looks pretty cool two dimensionally but it also looks like it's slammed 1 1/2". Doubt we'll get that.

LOVE IT. The specs are there, the side profile is sleek and doesn't look electric car gimmicky. If the price is competitive, this can make for an awesome daily driver.

Otherwise, it will not work for me.
The G20 is already quite a few inches longer than the F30, and this one will be based on the LWB platform, similar to how the 3er GT (F34) was much longer than the F30.
