18" on 2020 M340 xDrive
Recently bought a 2020 m340i xDrive and it came with 19" stagered wheels with 255/35r19 in rear and 225/40r19 in the front. Before ordering winter wheels is there anything I need to know. I want to go down to 18'' for my winter set so do i just go 255/40r18 and 225/45r18, if so what are the exact wheel specs that are needed, width and offset for the front and rears.
I noticed the BMW 796M wheel comes in 18x8.5 et40 and 18.7x5 et25, is this the spec i want Also where is the best Place to order OEM bmw wheels in north America |

Based on what i have read on the F30 forums, most people prefer a straight setup for winter for a more balanced handling. If you are going with 18" aftermarket wheels, both 7.5"J or 8"J wheels will work with 225s.

@tyaremko Did you manage to get the Style 796M wheels yet and have them installed? I'm just curious also about the M-sport brake clearance as well. I'm also planning on square setup for winters
One of the websites in Norh America (USD):, otherwise local dealership. https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-g20-3-series-2018--294 Side note, there could be possibility of some sort of discount from the dealership as prices are MSRP. |

ZTK?
Do you have the HP Cooling & Performance package (ZTK)? This matters, as I don't think 18's will fit over the larger ZTK front brakes.
I'm in this same dilemma. I have the same staggered 19" setup, but I have ZTK. Starting to think about winter wheels & tires, and I'd prefer a square 18 setup too. 796M's with winters would be my ideal choice too, but I don't think it'll work. I'm very curious to hear about what others are doing for winter tires. Last edited by Delta5; 07-23-2019 at 08:41 AM.. |

I just ordered the car with all season non rft 18s and did not check the box for ZTK as it is a useless option for my daily driving purposes.

Without ZTK (or 33T in Europe), even 17" should fit.
Standard M Sport front rotors are pretty small - only 348 mm. With ZTK - 374 mm. M Sport on my F30 328i is 370 mm.

FYI, TireRack has updated their 2020 M340i info to include wheel & tire packages, including winter. Their system says various 18's and 19's will fit. But it does NOT currently question whether "sport brakes" are installed, as I've observed on some other BMW models in their system. I wonder if they know about ZTK and whether it matters for 18's?

There are 3 brake sizes. Standard which comes on 330I msport, the larger msport brakes on the m340i, and the even larger optional ZTK brakes. The middle size does fit into 18" but, not 17".
