Pixel XL - Can't get texts

Hey,

I have a "old" phone. First Pixel XL.

When I get a text, I do not get any alerts or option to have it read. Is there a fix for this? Is the phone just old?

I did some googling and only found answers for other generations of BMW and mostly IPhone answers.

Thanks

Do you have a wireless charging tray?

I have the tray with the little cell phone icon on it but I do not believe it charges. It doesn't light up or do anything when my phone is in there.

Yeah, then you're probably missing wireless charging. Wireless charging also bundled enhanced Bluetooth, which includes text dictation.

It's stupid.

According the BMW website, it should be included with the vehicles by default, but in reality it is only included with wireless charging. Massively deceptive and should be a class action suit.

Wow that is really disappointing to hear. Is there anyway to enable it with or without the wireless charging?

Unless you have wireless charging and extended bluetooth and stuff, for now, it isn't possible.

Another thing, Pixel 1, Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL do not have wireless charging capabilities.

Pixel 3 and higher models have wireless charging.
