Hi there.

I currently drive a 2018 F30 320d and I regret having bought it. I mean, I like the feeling of the car in general, but it's my first diesel, and I hate the sound. I miss the excitement of 6k-7k rpm and how a petrol engine car just turns into something else once you downshift.

So, I want to trade it in for a new petrol engine car. I have two options in my head and I really could use some opinions from you guys.

• A G20 320i which has a 1.6L engine here unlike those in the UK and other markets. It produces 170hp and does 0-60 in 7.7 seconds. These go for around 330k TL (~50k euros) for sport, 380k TL (~60k euros) for luxury and M Sport lines.
  
  
• A F30 330i that does 0-60 in 5.8 secs. These are available fully loaded with options and range between 380k and 420k TL(~60-65k euros), but the dealership is more likely to sell them for much less as they are the older model now.

My petrolhead heart is telling me to choose the 330i but my logic is opting for the 320i as it's:

a) much easier to sell
b) less likely to depreciate
c) cheaper to maintain
d) has a lower consumption rate
e) is the newest model

I think it depends upon how you drive. If you do a lot of high speed passing, you might want to opt for the 330i; if on the other hand you do mostly urban driving, then the 320i is probably adequate and the advantages you noted apply.
