I'm looking into ordering a set of VS-5RS 9j for my 330ix.

I can't decide if I want 245/35/R19 square or 255/35/R19 square...any recommendations?

I'm concerned that 255 fronts might result in less agility in the front - I would like to keep the playfulness of the front turn in.

I just want to say. Apex makes some great looking OEM+ wheels, but they have a lot, and I mean a lot of work to do in terms of logistics. I ordered my staggered VS-5RS back in early May, and the eta has changed 3 times. I still don’t have my wheels btw, and the latest eta given was early August…and Im afraid to ask if it changed again.

That said, for anyone interested, yes, they are beautiful wheels, and by all accounts, well made. Just be prepared to wait a while and for eta’s to constantly change.

255/35-19 square has been my recommendation for most customers on street tires with this setup. 245/35 will work fine, but you're sacrificing a bit of grip at both ends of the car. Wider tires make the steering heavier, especially at lower speeds but the grip increase is worth it for most. Either setup works fine so its still personal preference for you at the end of the day.

Fulfillment certainly hasn't been ideal, thanks for your patience thus far. It was particularly bad during the last Group Buy because of the SKU mix and the G chassis wheels in particular selling far better than we anticipated. We're working on improving both the quantity mix ordered and the ETAs provided to cut down on situations like yours, but I'm always happy to provide an update on your order if you need one.

It is frustrating for sure (I had a similar experience), but I can tell you that the wait is worth it. If I had to do it again, I would.

Hey thanks. Sorry guys I had some medical stuff come up. The lip, diffuser and rear spoiler were all gloss black eBay parts I snagged links from various posts but I couldn't believe the prices. I'm going to grab my eBay history and see if it pulls up and pm you directly if it will let me.

I ordered from Kies also on 11/20, the order never updated on Kies website and I didn't have tracking info or anything. Just showed up on 11/27 from UPS, drop shipped from Apex.

I need to see how this turns out. Are you gonna lower the car?

Currently no plans to lower it due to some roads I drive, probably not worth it for me.

Finally got the wheels mounted, 19x9 square setup, 255/35/R19 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. No spacers, not lowered. Sits pretty flush front and back.

so are these 25 offset wheels? and also how do you like the all seasons tires? I am doing a new set of wheels as well - Richland Forged - trying to decide on Mich PS4S or the all seasons. I ordered 19x9 et 25 square wheels, but it seems the load rating on a Gran Coupe may impede my ability to go square unless I can fit the 255 up front. ned 100y load rating in rear.

Yes, 25 offset all around. I think the all seasons perform well even on spirited drives. PS4S if you really need the extra grip, but won't last as long as the all seasons.

Recently got my VS-5RS installed on my G20. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Went with 19x9 ET25 235/40 and 19x10 ET38 265/35 in satin bronze.

Wheels/tires look great -- these widths should have come standard on the M340i. Have you had any issues with air leaking so far? There are numerous reports elsewhere on the forums about the knurled Apex wheels causing leakage around the bead area (and requiring multiple trips for remounting/bead sealer/etc) with PS4S tires.

Funny you should mention this - after my Apex install 1 yr ago I have had a VERY slow but determined leak in my PS Front tire. Been to the shop 3X now to check for leaks, every time they state they can't find anything

It's not a TPMS fault either (purchased new set from Apex) because every time I fill the pressure is correct, but shows on iDrive as going down about 1# pressure every 2 wks

Its getting fairly annoying

IDK why this would be tire specific, but I am running PS A/S4's

I don't know either except it's clearly an Apex knurl design issue since PS4S and PSAS4 don't just leak air at their beads on other wheels. I have PS4S on Apex EC-7 wheels for years now on two different cars with no issue also. So far, the reports in the F87 M2 section of the forum about the issue have kept me from buying the new Apex forged designs with the knurling since it seems something just isn't right with their design. I definitely do not want a wheel that requires bead sealant.

I haven't had any issues with leakage so far, but I've only driven a couple hundred miles on them and had them for a week. If I eventually do notice something, I'll follow up in this thread.
