Hi everyone. Not sure if anyone else can help me here

Just got new iPhone 13 and tried setting up digital key but get the message saying "error adding digital key to this BMW" on my phone.

Tried setting up using BMW App, the connected drive email and the text message but can't seem to get it working

Have both main keys and the car wasn't on.

If it helps I have a 2020 330e. I added the key on my iPhone 12 max and 12 mini just fine but on the 13 it doesn't work. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Only from July 2020 onwards production they added this feature.

I called BMW genius and they indicated iPhone 13 will not work with Digital Key at this time. Blamed Apple and gave no further explanation.

I just got mine to work surprisingly. I updated my phone to the very latest version of iOS (just released a few hours ago now)

Make sure your phone and car have good reception I tried many times in the basement with limited reception.

1. I went to my BMW app and started the process to add digital key there.
2. Place phone on charger
3. Press add digital key on the BMW screen
4. The pairing process worked that time.

It was probably the 9-10th time i tried adding.

Let me know if you guys get your cars working

Thank you for this. After struggling since Friday, after the update mine paired 1st try in 20 seconds.

The Genius told me that you can't use the key card and the digital key, but mine has always worked with both (and my Apple Watch) If anybody has problems, reset it all then add your digital key to your wallet first, then add your card key back in.

It's great to have so many alternatives when I get to my car in our detached garage and am too lazy to walk back to the house for my regular key

1 - regular key
2- iPhone
3- Apple Watch
4- card key

so what version of Apple Phone will allow Digital Key. When did they add this option? I have an 11.

XS or later. So iPhone 11 should work. Just car needs to be built after July 1 2020 and have comfort access package equipment

Not sure how it's a humble brag. He's asking a question because he's having an issue with a new iPhone, which probably a few million people got on Friday. I also had an issue with my new iPhone and the digital key this weekend, which I had posted about in a different thread.

Thanks for the good news... I tried updating my digital key several times (unsuccessfully) via several different methods over the weekend.

After updating to the recently release iOS 15 update (still 15.0?), I was able to get it to successfully pair right away (from the MyBMW app). Thanks!

Does the 13 work any better on the wireless charger? My old XS just overheats and can't maintain a connection. Hoping the 13 I ordered will function at least as well as the XS did on my previous BMW, but I'm not holding my breath.

Was anyone able to pair their G8x manual with their iPhones for digital key access?
I just received an email from BMW that my car doesn’t have the digital key features… Do the manuals not have the digital key feature?
I own a 2021 G82.
I saw the digital key option on my app so I was trying to pair it, but because I was alway from my car, I stopped. The next day, I tried pairing because I was in the car, but the option doesn’t populate on my phone app nor car app….
Please advise…

won't work with manuals my friend has a m4 and and he spoke to bmw a few times can't do it not an option
works with competition models and all regular ones
ive had it for 6 months I used it once it unpaired never paired it agin I just use the remote start on the app. the key u need to program all your settings to save onto it , so I just use the same key all the time
