Free Oil Change After 3 years

Got my oil and filters changed today at my local BMW dealer and they didn't charge me. Not that I'm complaining, but I thought the free maintenance plan was for 3 years or 36k miles, whatever came first? My car is a 2020 m340i with 26k miles on it. First owner leased it back in 2019 so it's definitely been more than 3 years. Could the first owner have purchased an extended maintenance program?
