I’m not sure why these are cross-shopped. Unless you are logistically able to have a charger installed , the Tesla isn’t really an option. The cost to lease a Tesla is a lot more, and the interior is below BMW’s league.

They are cross-shopped because they are similarly sized RWD/AWD sport sedans with a similar starting MSRP.

The interior preference is a matter of ones personal priorities based on what one considers to be an effective HMI and pleasing aesthetic. Furthermore, be it a lease or purchase, the cost to possess and operate the two cars has been shown to be comparable.

So for those who have a practical and convenient way to charge the car daily (or at least regularly), which I'd venture to guess is a large number of people, it makes sense to compare the two. Right?

I test driven both cars. Have to agree with Edmunds on their conclusion. I still can't wrap my mind how a brand new electrical car can be more fun to drive compared to 3 series BMW. What happened?

I agree more with Auto Car and other non American magazines & publications on this (and on everything else.)
Tesla Model 3 is nowhere near as fun to drive than any BMW or Benz.

How can you compare a poorly built quality Playmobil car (Tesla 3) to a premium 45 years of history driving machine (BMW 3)? Tesla used the label ‘3’ to position itself to the BMW 3, but it’s not even close. The Tesla is really lacking emotion and passion for driving and the interior is actually non-existing at all.

lol

Tesla 3 was the 3rd mass produced Tesla after the S and the X.

And the BMW F3x/G2x are so plastic it's not funny.

I have disagree, the fit and finish of BMW are leagues above Tesla. Also you can option a 3 with more leather of the plastic bothers you. That's a mute talking point.
