Mysterious Faint Beeping Noise from Screen Area
I've recently noticed a strange, very faint beeping noise coming from the screen area in my 2021 BMW M340i. The peculiar thing is that the beeping stops when the car is completely turned off. Car has only around 20,000 miles on it, and it's still under warranty.I'm planning to visit the dealership in a week or so to have them diagnose the issue.
However, I thought it would be worthwhile to ask here if anyone has experienced a similar problem or can provide any insight into what might be causing this odd noise. video. turn the volume up it's very faint but noticable. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Last edited by 90rr; 08-16-2023 at 11:25 AM.. |

It's the front speaker
The beeping noise in your video is coming from the front dashboard speaker. I had the same sound in my 2021 M440i. It drove me crazy. I unplugged the front speaker and the beep is gone. Took 10 minutes with the help of Youtube. The stereo may sound better without the center speaker.

I took the car to the dealer several times and they couldn't figure out where the problem was coming from. They replaced the speaker the last time, but the beeping noise stays the same. When i open the door it stops, other than that it's constant as long car is on (engine could be off, it doesn't make any difference). I am out of ideas.

Beeping solved
Exciting update on the faint beeping noise saga. It was really bothering me when sitting in the car with engine off waiting in parking lots, etc.
I took it to a dealership previously who heard the noise, flashed the iDrive and it did not correct the problem. I switched dealers. New dealer - Heard the noise and decided to replace the center channel speaker in center of dash. Based on other threads I was not too optimistic. However, it fixed the problem! Beeping gone. So - there is hope! 2023 M340xi As evidence of the problem I gave them this video from another beep sufferer : - I was unable to record my own video without a good enough mic setup. |

Maybe try burning the service manager by telling BMW NA the dealership is flatly unresponsive. You will get a response. You gave them a chance.
To see if they replaced it for real you might check your paperwork of the service visit. My replacement speaker on the paperwork was noted as:
