But, this thread is not about the 2. It's about the 4 LCI headlights. I was considering getting a 4 next, if they improved the front end design on the LCI. But, unfortunately it doesn't look like they will. Based on the headlights in this thread, it looks like they're going to make it even uglier than it already is.

Lights used to just be lights. Now they are often intricately incorporated into the designs of cars. Which is awesome. Every part of the car needs to be given attention and thought with the overall design of the car in mind.
I do think the slant angel eye \\ // style suits the G8x front end better. But the lights themselves lack a lot of the detail that the current lasers have which is disappointing. |

I just want to clarify. I am not referring to the coronas, which didn’t come along until the 2000 5er. I’m referring to the quad headlights, which first became a continuing BMW design feature on the 1977 E21 3er. I clearly remember when BMW made the specific design choice with the 1990 E36 to put a clear cover over the headlights, but retain the quad headlight design. This was right at the time the U.S. DoT relaxed headlight design requirements and allowed manufacturers to move away from the old sealed beam design and incorporate headlight design to be part of the overall design of cars. BMW managed to incorporate the headlight design into the overall design of their cars and still maintain the quad design that had become an icon of BMW design.

All modern BMW's suffer from the numb steering even the G8X cars which have turned off many enthusiasts. BMW can't even match Cadillac in driving dynamics so let's not throw shade.

You’re putting words in my mouth. I’m not talking about expressing opinion. I’m talking about viciously attacking and insulting everything you don’t like, and insulting others who do.

Yes, the steering is not what e90 had, however, the difference between the G80 and G20 steering is greater than the e90 vs G80. As for the rest -- communication, road feel, brakes feel, 6MT vs 8AT numbness...cannot even compare the G80 vs G20. I have also seen more positive reviews about the G80 than negative though. But from my own experience, the G20 was a total disappointment. My daughter owns a G26 and it is quite better feel and feedback than what I experience for 9 months with my M340i... |

Compared to BMW, in any case, they do not remove equipment and turn the cars into cheap cars without passion.

Is that a bad thing - no, there is a market to be had there. I’m glad to see more people coming into the BMW fam. The problem, almost exclusively, is BMW hasn’t given their old 3-series customers a place to go. I’ve had six 3’s, including 3 M3s, and I just don’t feel like BMW has given me a place to go. The 5 is too big, the Z has been neglected, and everything else is an SUV. If BMW would just add a single high end performance focused car I think everyone could STFU and move on happily. Idk why anyone would go to Kia though… |

Honestly, the standard interior quality of the 911 is also kind of embarrassing when you consider that it's approaching the price of a Huracan and has all the same cheap plastic of a 330i.

As example: Removal of the auto dim mirror for the passenger side. The package has exactly the same price as before (but without dimmable passenger mirror). If they need to save money (or earn money), just double the price of the package. I´m sure ppl would spend 900-1000$ for both than 4-500$ for one.. And for those who doesen´t care - they could just go for the entry package or skip it all. Luckily, its almost always possible to retrofit og modify things.

Cadillac may have slightly better steering and, to some, better 6MT (not to me). The rest...blah. I wonder if G8x or Blackwing have better sales globally? And...OK, I have been driving Bimmers since e46 (2002)...so, kudos to you (how come you discovered this forum 15 years too late?) |

Right. Three design elements were the hallmark of BMW for over 50 years: the kidney grille, framed by round head lights and the hofmeister kink. In the last few years they’ve discarded the round headlights, and played very fast and loose w the kidney grill. Why would people be upset about that??

Really disappointed in the air bag cover change on the steering wheel. The new plasti version looks terrible.
When I ordered the car in July it was the hand stitched version, now it looks like I need to accept this awful downgraded version. |
