We have "Selective Beam" in Europe but is apparently not approved in all markets.

The KAFAS items are not changeable, however, so optimization for staying on longer with street lights / signs isn't possible; you'll need Esys for that. But basic functionality plus some parameter editing to improve performance is possible.

Basic functionality is in BDC section with the following changes:
Code:
PARAMETER US VALUE ECE VALUE
C_HBA_DIM_ENA: disable [00] enable [01]
C_HBA_GFHB_ENA: disable [00] enable [01]
As siegester mentioned on page 7, the following parameters improve performance:

Code:
PARAMETER US VALUE ECE VALUE
C_AFS_ECO_LEVEL_3_ENA disable [00] enable [01]
C_AFS_ENA disable [00] enable [01]
C_BLC_PRE_ENA disable [00] enable [01]
C_CLC_CURV_V2 US [3C] ECE [23]
C_CLC_CURV_V3 US [46] ECE [28]
C_CLC_EXT_ENA disable [00] enable_roundabout [01]
C_HBA_DIM_ENA disable [00] enable [01]
C_HBA_GFHBA_ENA_V_HI 55km/h [37] standard [3C]
C_HBA_GFHB_ENA disable [00] enable [01]
LUT_AFS_CODRV_HOR Laser_US/G007_US	standard/init
LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR Laser_US F040_G005_AHL/G015_G020_Laser
LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y	no_AFS [00 00 14]	AFS [00 00 00]
The one deviation I made was to set C_HBA_GFHBA_ENA_V_HI to the lowest speed (I think 47 kph). I believe this makes it turn the highbeams on at a lower speed. I confirmed mine turns on at about 30 mph. Note that when you are testing, the system will not fully engage at lower speeds or if there is enough ambient light from street lights (it may just be regular on/off high beams for those cases). So go somewhere that's actually dark to confirm performance. I was fooled a few times while changing settings thinking it wasn't working.

I find that it works quite well. The highbeams definitely tunnel around cars that I'm following, and turn off for opposing traffic while still staying on in my lane.

I am driving a 2022 M340xi (North America).
Coded my 2020 lasers with these settings via bimmercode and it is working, seems to be enough. Thank you!

We had a poster insist he fully enabled anti-dazzle using only Bimmercode, now at least he admits that it is not fully enabled since KAFAS can't be accessed. Hopefully some of the experts here can look at the code to make sure it is safe and then maybe test it to see if it works and is it better than solutions we have already seen. Thanks

Yeah, its not legal in the US (yet) so a lot of folks here are looking to re-enable the functionality that comes disabled from the factory if you are in the US.

Sure it is, the regulations came out earlier this year. Currently BMW does not have any headlights that meet the requirements though.

Strange really, it's all about safety, but the requirements for each country can be so different. That it is allowed here in the Netherlands, but not in the United States.

Yes, that coding has been around for awhile. I think most people have stopped using it due to light leakage/glare.

I would love to code the anti-dazzle, but also I'd like to enable the full throw of the lasers here in the US. Can anyone confirm if the laser output is hardware or software restricted? The blue hue is illegal, so would have to disable that if EU lasers were required for the full throw.

I have seen where a few folks have tried to enable the full power but had to undo it due to various electrical issues. There is no blue lighting so you wouldn't have to worry about that.

All of these are accessible thru Bimmercode? You haven’t tried it on your car?

That is what he says. Have not tried it as I would like someone with knowledge of what is being changed to make sure there is nothing that would do harm.

Would love to try this but no longer technically / computer savvy to pull it off.

It can be done remote, but breaks your warranty either way.

The only way it would effect a warranty claim is if they can show the coding caused the problem with your lights it would not effect any other covered item.
