Hi. I have a brand new G-Series Digital instrument cluster I would like to retrofit on my G20 that came with the analog cluster and MGU HU High - D3. I need someone who can assist with coding remotely after I plug it in.

Expectations: BC button functioning, center map display, etc. Please let me know of any limitations beforehand. Thanks.

After much deliberation, I reached out to EleBest Pte Ltd who are experts in retrofitting. Testament to that is the work that they have done on various BMW, Merc, Porsche and Audi cars. This was the only company that inspired confidence.


Requirements (Client)
1. OBD 2 ENET Cable
2. Windows Laptop
3. TeamViewer installed on laptop


Procedure
1. Plug in brand new cluster.
2. Put the car in diagnostic mode by quickly pressing start button 3 times when car is off.
3. Connect OBD 2 ENET cable to car and laptop.
4. Send EleBest Pte Ltd TeamViewer ID and password.
5. Sit in car and wait for EleBest Pte Ltd agent to configure connection to the car.
6. Wait for instructions from EleBest Pte Ltd agent during the process. Nothing complicated (Change driving mode, Press BC button, etc) to confirm functionality.
7. When complete I was advised to let the car sleep for 20 minutes before turning it on.


After letting the car sleep for 20 minutes I turned it on and all cluster functionality was available from BC button to widgets. I had assumed that some functionality would not be available with the smaller iDrive screen but that was not the case. Everything works and there are new options in the Displays menu option for configuring the instrument cluster.

I highly recommend EleBest Pte Ltd. They were patient with me and highly professional. Hands down the best retrofitting company.

Hi GeorgeRSA, I like how you did your conversion and thank you for the detailed process of how to go about getting the digital cluster coded. I would like to do a similar setup with my G20 currently an analog cluster and my question is where did you purchase your digital cluster and how much overall did you spend including the remote configuration. I am also in SA and when it comes to retrofitting one needs to be spot on when ordering such devices.

What am I missing? Looks like a normal display, other than some great big red stripe through the middle (what is that?)

That's just a protective cover that is peeled off after install.

The old gages they had are not the digital ones (I think these are standard in the US but maybe not elsewhere), the before and after is really clear on this reddit post. Honestly, I kind of like the analog gages.

If the cluster is brand new, no need. Otherwise, yes. You need to get it virginized.
