My new Portimao Blue 330i xDrive

After being in an Audi for the past 3 years I'm so happy to be back in a BMW. I took delivery yesterday and honestly couldn't be happier, this model is light years ahead of previous 3 series models in terms of technology. My last BMW was an E90 LCI, which I owned for 7 years before my family expanded and had to move on to something bigger. Thrilled to be back in such an amazing car. Specs are as follows:

330i xDrive
Portimao Blue
Black leather w/ blue stitching
M-Sport package
Premium package
Adaptive suspension
Harmon Kardon
Remote start

Just some dealer pics they sent me prior to delivery

Did they use the wrong stitching for the driver seat base?

Thanks for pointing this out, I had noticed this as well. A new seat is on order, just need to wait for it to get here.

Car looks awesome, congrats! I love that color.

That seat thing is so strange, I wonder at what point in production they assemble the two halves of the seat together...

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

An update on the seat - as some noticed, my driver's seat has black/white stitching on the seat bottom vs blue everywhere else. I brought it to the attention of my sales advisor and they went ahead and ordered a new seat. The new seat came in and is the exact same as my current one. They've opened a case with the factory but I'd like to ask others with the black leather w/ blue stitching option....is your driver's seat all blue stitching or is it black & white on the seat like mine??

My car is the exact spec as yours, Portimao Blue, M sport, black seats with blue stitching. I can 100% confirm its all blue stitching.

Blue stitching

Just checked my car. The stitching is Blue all around. Did the dealer order a complete new seat or just the bottom covers? If just covers, they probably entered the VIN into the EPC and it came up with the same covers already installed at the factory.

If they ordered a complete seat, which is very difficult to do and usually takes a long time to receive because they are made to order and not generally in PDC inventory, and it came in incorrectly that’s an even bigger problem.

Thank you all for chiming in! This is especially helpful and probably what happened. I'm guessing they ordered the seat bottom by entering my VIN and were just sent the incorrect bottom that was installed at the factory - this is still all unbelievable to me. You would think someone somewhere would realize it's not right

Blue stitching

Check your service invoice for part numbers. Black sport seat covers with blue stitching are 52 10 7 472 479. Covers with grey stitching are 52 10 7 472 480.

Some good news, since delivery I've tinted the windows with 35% on the sides and 20% on the back window. Also installed Xpel on all the leading edges for protection. And finally put on the black grilles today. So far, so good!

Also a picture I found humorous - I pulled out the old chrome grilles from my E90 LCI and put them next to the ones from my G20. Whew boy they've grown!

So happy to report that the dealer finally installed the correct driver's seat cover w/ blue stitching. Thanks to those who helped me recognize the error from the factory! Some before & after pics...

And people were worried about the build quality in Mexico...should have been worried about Germany!
