Yes I did, Dinan warrantied out the exhaust and sent out a new one the I had installed by a certified shop to rule out any installation error concerns. The issue is mostly resolved but there is still a slight rattle when the valves are closed, I will update you in the upcoming month because I may have diagnosed the issue and figured out a remedy, I am currently just waiting for the parts to come in. I'll come back to this thread and post current sound clips, remedied sound clips as well as sound clips of the exhaust with a catless downpipes and tune.

I’ll be curious to hear the final disposition as I plan on ordering when it goes on sale later this year. I’ll be having it shipped to Europe, so I’m hoping not to have to deal with any issues.

I just got the car back after it went threw the m sport conversion! That’s a review for another time though, i recorded some sound clips of the car with the valves open in (comfort then sport mode) i’ll record with them closed a little later but it practically sounds stock with them closed.

I have a MST Intake on with a CTS turbo charge pipe with a catless downpipe going on it soon.

There are 2 Main advantages that made me decide to order one.

1. When paired with a tune you can achieve far higher HP and Torque gains than the restrictive (800-900) cell dp (I can’t remember the exact number) but the power difference gets pretty wide when you look at custom tunes
2. It opens up the exhaust sound A LOT if that is something that you are looking for to make the car more engaging to drive combined with the new power band.

The Disadvantage(s)
1. If you go Cat-Less instead of 200 cell there will be a slight fuel smell when running the car hot or idling the car for 15+ minutes.
2. Depending on the DP you get you will get a check engine light if you don’t have a tune paired with it, that being said there are downpipes that you can put on stock cars that won’t throw a light but those are a little pricier.

TLDR - DP and Exhaust are mainly to change the note of your car, but they are also the main mild mod that you can do on these cars to achieve some decent power gains with a tune (Stage 2 or Custom.)

Thanks for the info, I've really never thought of changing any of this until I started to read some of these threads. It's a lot of money to spend for not a lot of extra HP and only a little extra sound. The exhaust doesn't sound ricey does it? I can't find any sound clips....

I'm never going to tune this 330i, so I guess the AA down pipe really isn't going to help me....

Actually, it's quite the contrary. If you're not planning to tune the car, then a downpipe is a great next step for you.

An Active Autowerke (AA) downpipe won't trigger the check engine light, and it will both enhance the sound and power output.
