To make a long story short, my beloved 2020 M340 was totaled when I was hit sitting at a stop sign. That was Dec 25 and after dealing with the at-fault driver's insurance for over a month, I placed an order for a 2023 M340i XDrive with pretty much the same feature set as my old one. The MSRP with the destination fee is $69,870.

This is my third BMW and the second one I bought from this particular dealer. They are giving me $300 off MSRP as a loyal dealer customer and the BMW-funded $750 loyalty incentive. That's it.

I ordered the car on Feb 3, and it finally reached the dealership this week. Do I have any leverage to get a better deal, or is this a good deal given the new car buying climate? It is definitely not a buyer's market.

I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or recommendations you may have.
Well, you've got two options: One, tell them that you no longer want the car at the agreed to price, but are willing to renegotiate; Two, take it for the negotiated agreement.

Obviously, the risk with #1 is that the dealership takes a chance and says, "We'll try selling it to someone else."

You can always ask but you wouldn’t like if the dealer changed the price they agreed to so why do it to them?

With the M340 inventory being non-existent in my area and after waiting 16+ weeks, option 1 would be more painful than it is worth. Plus, this is the first car I have ordered. Negotiating a deal has always been part of the fun of buying a car, but those days seem to be over for now.

Thanks for your help!

I definitely agree with that sentiment. My salesperson has been good and I don't want to be too much of a PintA. Maybe I'll try to negotiate a freebie when it comes time for the paperwork in the finance department.

Thanks for your reply!

I'd be doing at least 3,500 of that MSRP, but at this point all you can do is try to negotiate it down and see what happens, or start the process over from scratch.

Like you, we ordered in February @ MSRP. Checked off most of the options like you, with an MSRP of just under 69k. Without too much hassle, we got 500 off MSRP. I think we could’ve done better, as the dealer automatically lists every car in production/in transit/ on the lot (whether spoken for or not) on RODO (a car leasing/purchasing app). It was listed at $2.2k under MSRP. When we tried to use that as leverage, the next day, the dealership removed all their cars listed on RODO. Several days later they were back on at MSRP.

That's why, for me, I'm moving on. Just not sure where to go. BMW used to be an amazingly affordable lease especially with the $2,500 towards car from the driving events they had.

I actually just sold my Lease to Rodo. Easiest process ever. I was way over miles and they bought the car directly from BMW for the remaining balance 3 months early. I’m not getting another BMW they are too expensive now. I was going G80 but current payments are pushing $2000 a month which is a damn joke

Curious to find out what 330e owners or even general G20 owners are getting on financing rates along with BMW incentives nowadays.

Think I am also moving on unfortunately. BMW simply isn't leasing well. Gotta go where the deals are. Right now Audi has some ridiculous deals on their e-trons.

i got 2.5 percent off 63k MSRP + loyalty credit from BMW which was 1 k I think. I also got 5K lease credit from bmw because of X5 lease was stolen.

somehow, my 2019 540i xdrive lease(about the same price as this MSRP m340i) was still 100 dollars a month cheaper than this m340i lease with the 5k insuirance payout BMW credit lmao. we live in a different world right now. I am in South FL and its hard to get deals here. I couldn't help but notice in the entire state there was like only 3-5 M340i's on any given lot. NO inventory. I was lucky enough to snag one from a smaller dealership in SoFlo that has one just delivered to the Mexico port already assembled. Time somewhat of the essence since my other car got jacked though I work mostly remote

edit: sorry, I should clarify, my lease payment came out to 920 a month with 3k DAS (high FL doc fees) and is basically 780 a month with the 5200 dollar BMW credit from the difference in insurance payout. (36 mo/10k) I don't need anyone to shit on the deal I got. I make good money and am comfortable paying this, it is what it is right now. I notice every dealer I was negotiating with was marking up the money factor as much as they legally could regardless of MSRP discounts

Just picked up the 330e this past weekend and the CA and finance guys I have been dealing with for years got me 5% off MSRP (from $55k), plus BMW loyalty credit, and 5.29% since we're financing it. Not the best rate but I get to write off payments since it'll be used towards the business. I plan to switch once rates are better or maybe even just pay it off outright. All in all, I think it was close to $4k (or right at that) off MSRP including BMW loyalty incentive.

Curious what is your payment? Also did you buy off the lot or a custom order?

It was a custom build and took about 3 months from the time I placed the order with my CA. Zero down, 5.29% for 60mos, came out to a little over $1k (i believe $1042) with taxes and fees included. That also factored the discount received from MSRP along with BMW Loyalty credit, etc.

Curious, what rate(s) have you been quoted?

Hey everyone I new here and to BMW's. I just order me a M340ix and I can't wait. That being said I have read a lot of posts about production times, shipping times and all the problems that could happen to me. I'm"NERVOUS" and THRILLED to get it! I tried to upload the tracking pics and info from My Garage BMW.com here like I've but couldn't figure it out.

Congrats! Your salesperson has a production code they give you and you google how to get there easily. Order to Production was 2 months and Production to deliver was about 2 months.
