On topic, I do have one dealer honoring the pricing from pre 1/3. It's a nice gesture for sure but they just have 1 car in a color that I don't want (black) and missing a feature I care about (adaptive suspension).

It's a bummer the incentives have fallen off, but predictable I guess. The best deal I can manage on a vehicle I want is pumping the financing to 2.9%. (credit score 821 currently)

Why? BMW is currently offering 1.9% through January 31, and a $1,000 Purchase Credit may be available.

Sellers market and the dealer has exactly one M340i coming that isn’t sold. They are taking an extra point.

I can keep shopping around but need a vehicle and this checks all the boxes. Ordering new is a long wait, risk to lose features, loss of a discount and some incentives. I’ll come out about $1000 ahead by ordering at my preferred dealer, but a long wait. This one also has the NC parking assistance package, which I want. I think that is $700 again now.

My local dealer was adding a point to the 0.9% so they might actually be padding the 1.9 as well. I'll find out today.

Damn. We're hoping to take delivery this week and I've verbally confirmed 1.9% + $1,000 with the sales manager and SA. If they try to pull any of this B.S. I'm going to be pissed and they're going to know it. And wait 'till my wife is through with them!

They are allowed to mark up up to 1%, .00040 for leases, and many dealers do. If they already agreed to 1.9% and the delivery is within the lock period then you should be fine.

Question for the experts..

I had a rate lock at 0.9% with a dealer in Chicago 12/20. That deal fell through, and other dealers are telling me the lock is specific to the dealer and they can't use it. True or false?

I know if I custom order it'll fall outside the lock period, but I'm talking current stock or vehicles landing soon.

My understanding is that is true since the finance rate is part of the sales process, ie. can be marked up.

Thank you. It's hard to know when some sales people are loose with truth.

Had one guy spin this big story about a hand surgeon trading in a car I was looking at. Then he hands me a printout about the car, with the owner's address. Ten seconds with Google and I confirmed he worked in a warehouse. So pointless.

I talked with the General Sales Manager today and he confirmed that our original deal (August 2021) along with 1.9% financing and a $1,000 credit are locked.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. It arrived at the port last week, January 12, and had an estimated delivery date of January 17. There's an open work order- hopefully, that will be closed in the next week or so.

I must have gotten you mixed up with someone else who said they were picking it up this week.

We were supposed to be picking it up this week. The dealer and genius kept telling us that there were no work orders, recalls, or stop-sales on the car, even though the recall tool has been showing 0065600300 (Checking the installation of amplifier, retrofitting if necessary). Our car had an estimated delivery date of 01/17. Yesterday the dealer confirmed that there's that work order.

I had a SA tell me a week or two ago Jan incentives are $2K for loyalty (up from $1K in December) when financing plus $2K financing incentive, up from $1.5K in December. Anyone else been quoted the same this month?

Looks like loyalty is $1k and financing is $1k.
