The one and only time I tried it was right after I got the car, it might be the conditions were not fulfilled and I decided it is not working. I never had interest to try it again though. Next time there is opportunity I will give it second chance to show itself
PS. I feel your pain about the Munich traffic jam! The biggest I have ever seen! Same trip as you had - passing trough Germany from Austria en route to skiing vacation in Switzerland! |

Parking assistant would be ropes for me, not because of the parking, but because of the 360 cameras. I love them. If you get parking assistant you can also add drive recorder any time.
I don’t really use the sunroof, and I hardly notice the hud anymore, especially with polarized sunglasses. It also makes windshield replacement very expensive. Electric seats are nice, I would really miss them. I have the kick to open trunk but not the power close. The kick to open is novel, but not a big deal to me. The power close would be nice but it’s not hard to close by hand. |

If you were originally considering a 320 I don't think you need to step up to the M340. The 330 will be plenty quick for you. In your situation based on what you have said I would recommend going with a well optioned 330. I think you mayl regret a bare bones M340.

features first. you will rarely push the engine where you notice the difference but you will use premium pack, hud, adaptive suspension and dapp.
i would go honda/toyota/lexus fully loaded over barebones m340i. with tech getting better the difference between fully loaded cars and barebones is massive. 10 years ago I would say get the engine. now the tech. |

- For me the HUD is brilliant and I love having my speed in my view at all times. Australia is big on speeding enforcement so you may not get the same value out of it.
- Electric seats is nice but I think the biggest advantage is if you share the car with someone else and can save your seating position. Otherwise it's just not something I use very often. - The sunroof on these cars have a history of rattling/squeaking. I'd consider not having one to be a bonus. Saves weight too. - I find the electric trunk opening to be pretty unnecessary. Even when I have full hands I usually put a bag down rather than try and swing my foot around under the bumper balancing on one leg. The electric closing is cool though. - I've literally never used parking assist because I can park by myself so haven't even bothered to learn how it works. I've never driven a 320i so I don't know how big an improvement the 330i engine is but on paper it's pretty significant. |

Thank you guys for your feedback and sharing your thoughts.
Like I said I ordered the 330i, but I'm still waiting for the production slot. Also I don't know if the car will be the LCI 1 or LCI 2. So for now I have my 330i specced as in the link above. I paste it again here for your convenience: https://configure.bmw.pl/pl_PL/confi...ate=2024-05-07 So no sunroof and no HUD. But I took the parking assistant, the driver assistant pro and the electric trunk. Now I will probably have to pay extra for the xDrive according to my dealer. So, here's my decision: I want the car anyway. If I have to pay extra only for the xDrive (ca 1800 EUR) I will pay it and get the 330i. But If ultimately there will be another extra payment, apart from the xDrive - I will get the 340i (it costs ca. 10.000 EUR more) and keep all the options I already have in the ordered 330i. |
