Radar detector plus dashcam

I have a BlackVue 900 and a Uniden R7 I want to use at the same time. I’d like to mount the dashcam right below the plastic trim of the rear view on the windshield and I have a blend mount for the Uniden hanging from the rear view. Will the dashcam interfere with the Uniden radar detector in anyway? It’s not blocking the line of sight directly in front of the radar detector, but it has to be right above it.

I'm still rockin' an old 0806 mini dash cam with a Max360 and I haven't had any issues. The Max360 still has a clear line of sight.

Sweet. So as long as it’s not covering the line of sight I’m good?

I think so. My understanding is that detectors work best when they can "see" the radar signals.

Powers right off the mirror, nice. How is that dash cam powered?

I'm using a single mirror tap that splits off to power both the detector and dashcam. For the dashcam side, I soldered in a converter (similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RWV51YB...ing=UTF8&psc=1), and used a multimeter to adjust the output for 5v. Then covered the pcb in heat shrink to keep it tidy.

Interesting Idea. So this little board has a screwdriver turned bit on it that controls the voltage out. Smart.

Is hardwiring with a mirror tap sufficient to use something like parking mode? For example on my BlackVue 900dc?

Does parking mode require constant power even after the ignition is turned off? If so, I'm not sure if there is an option behind the rearview mirror. I'm tapped into power that turns off about 6-7 minutes after ignition is shut off.
