Just uploaded the new version to my G21 340d without a hitch. After the upload the first thing I noticed was a M340d symbol appeared at the top of the instrument cluster for the 1st time.

After a week of driving a minimum of 50 miles/day with no luck, I borrowed a battery charger. Charger showing as full but I’m still stuck on the same message.
I give up now. BMW should be done by trading standards for continuing to advertise OTA updates. It’s patchy and unreliable. I don’t lose any sleep over it, but I’m unlikely to buy another on the back of it (combined with the utterly disinterested dealer) |

Does anyone have earlier build G20's? Mine is Sep 2019 - m340i and my software is 07/2019.38. My app and car says no new update available for my car. Not sure how else to get the latest version. Any tips?

Mine is a March 2019. Had it updated to 03/2020 by a dealer (eventually) when the last OTA update went awol and it wouldn’t speak to the App

I am on 07/2019.30 June 2019 build, no updates available continue, plus no further feedback from BMW since I contacted them and they went away to look into it. |

This refers to my X5.
I had the 2019 software installed and was informed that the 20-07 software was available. I downloaded it to the car but then for several days it said it would ugrade it when conditions were met. I assumed this was the sufficient battery charge. I attached a trickle charger to the battery a few days ago, but up until one hour ago it still didn't indicate it was fully charged. I wasn't even sure it was being charged at all. I disconnected the battery charger and opened my X5. Immediately I could see on the iDrive screen it was now ready to install. Clearly the charger had improved the state of the battery, and it's that that was delaying the install. I've just had a notification on my phone that the software upgrade is complete, so I'm going to go have a look. |

Although according to BMW’s website my cars software is 2 versions out of date, so why would BMW’s service rather walk over hot coals than just simply update?
I’ve never had a conversation before with a garage and felt like the person I’m speaking to doesn’t believe I’m having the issues I’m having until today. |

He said he was going to sort it but he did try to blame my phone and the latest update although I did say it was happening prior to the latest update.
Funny thing was he then said “when is your car in for its service”, which I said another 3000 miles, to which he said “mention my name when you bring it in and I’ll sort it for you...........” My response: “So you want me to collect my car from you now and return it to you at the time of service?” Engineer: “Where’s your car” Me: “Outside in your car park where it’s been for the past 5 days getting the mirror and an oil leak sorted.........” Engineer: “.............oh!, I didn’t know that” Needless to say, I’m not impressed. |

After upgrading to 07/2020.54, I assumed Lane Change Assist coding would have been lost but when I checked, all 4 parameters were still set. I did have to code Comfort Plus again as the upgrade had disabled.
Just wondering if anyone who didn’t do any coding has now got it by default after the upgrade? |

https://youtu.be/_EP_JKu0Q4M It works really well and it uses lane change warning so if a car is approaching alongside you, it detects it and doesn’t steer into the lane until its clear. |

Let us hope BMW enable it for earlier models which have the correct hardware at some point. |
