He could still be in for a long wait if he gets a stop sale put on. But agree at this point he is well ahead of the game compared to alot of us

The wait really hasn't been bad. I have other more important things going on in my life and to be honest, I would forget that the car was on order up until it hit the assembly line. I went into the process being prepared for this experience based on what my friends and family have had. My friend waited 7 plus months for a M550 last year. Additionally, all of the possible delays that I've read here were not a surprise going in to this. If you walked into this with the expectation that everything goes smoothly and finished sooner than what you're told, you're going to be in for a grueling reality. Its all about accepting the reality of this at the very beginning. Comparatively speaking, I still think I'm more fortunate than the others so I'm grateful that the car has left the factory when it did. I started focusing on this more now because I want to track it when its on a boat. That seems pretty cool. This is my reality: 330 XE built in San Louis Potosi, Mexico. 11/10/2021 Order Placed 11/22/2021 Order Received (obtained Production Number) 12/15/2021 Production Scheduled 01/11/2022 Production began (obtained VIN) 01/24/2022 Exterior body assembly begins 01/24/2022 In the paint booth 01/24/2022 Entering assembly line 01/25/2022 Assembly in progress 01/25/2022 Quality Check 01/25/2022 Final assembly 01/28/2022 Awaiting carrier assignment (from Genius, tracker stuck in 'Final assembly') 01/31/2022 Dispatched from factory (from Genius and CA, switched to 'Ready for transport' on the tracker. Genius and CA said it would take up to 2 weeks to get to Port Veracruz. Today 02/09/2022 Tracker still in 'Ready for transport'. Car left factory about 10 days ago on 1/31. I have been told by my CA and Genius that it may take another week when I checked on 2/5. Genius said that the status for most people does not update until the car is on the boat and several steps are skipped on the tracker to 'In transport'. |

I don't think the issue is really "expecting things to be finished SOONER than we were told". It's more that we're either not being told anything or being told something that is just a guess or a flat out lie. I'd much rather them just be straight up and say "It'll be 5-6 months or so before this car gets here" rather than (on Dec 15 2021) be told "It's definitely going to be here by the end of the year" or for each week since the middle of January be told "They got the parts and your car is scheduled to get one from this batch of parts, it'll be within a week". Only to be here a month later with nothing and still being told the same thing. I'd be much happier if they were more upfront with the whole thing.
I knew the whole time it was likely going to be a little longer than what they were quoting but it's just the misinformation that's frustrating. |

Perhaps a quick intro as my account just got approved!
Living in Poland but native Belgian and awaiting my first BMW. I "owned" a BMW 116d before as a company car back in Belgium a few years ago so I'm not really counting this ;-) although I did love driving this car. This time around it will be a BMW 320e Touring Luxury Line with most options with the exception of M-related options. If you guys like, I can post some 3D renderings that I got from my Sales Rep and a list of options. Now to the data points.
As I'm based in Europe, I do not have access to this tracking tool in "My garage" that you guys from the States have. I wrote to my Sales Rep yesterday to ask for a quick update but no reply yet. The initial delivery date I got, when signing the contract and making the initial down payment, is August 31 |

I'm a habitual checker, I check the My BMW tracker multiple times a day. My car went into production (scheduled for production & production begins status updated) 1 Feb 22, nothing has happened in the tracker since then and its 15 Feb 22. So, I decided to call BMW Genius and they told me production should be complete some time today! I guess that the tracker status will update all of the things in between at once...

Looks like the recall tool is actually faster then what the CA have access to. Got a call from my CA this morning that the stop sale is indeed finally closed! It took mine a little over a month, now to wait for a PCD date.

My car is supposed to land on March 4th, with no open stop sales (at the moment). I was hoping to do PCD the last week in March. |

Hi all. Just placed an order today for my first BMW. A 2022 M340i in Portimao blue. I was told mid-March build and May delivery.
Question: I just got my build number and added to My Garage. The car is showing with the two-tone 791M wheel but I wanted all black. Does the picture on the tracker reflect the wheel choice? I think they may have entered this incorrectly. The options list doesn't say the color choice. |
