Lighter with XDrive is good news.

Has there any suggestion that it won't?

If so that worries me a lot.

if the Xdrive car stays similar to F80 weight with the power bump and AWD it will be a rocket. Can't imagine the Xdrive being lighter but I could see the PURE being lighter with Xdrive coming in at similar or slightly higher weight which would be great.

For those in the market it's a nice get.

If I did not have the F80 I'd be looking.

A Factory tune and reworked rims and tires on current F80 and its new to me all over again.

I need sunroof, leather executive package and 6 speed and I'm good

This sounds really promising. Really hope bmw doesn't fuck it up. Would love a G80C daily.

I think it makes sense to have 2 models instead of 3. Also, $72k msrp sounds about right. Like everyone says, can't wait.

Based on the clues that SCOTT26 has given us, I think this is going to be a complete change in design we've seen in a long time for an M car.

This will never happen. I'd be surprised if the awd G80 is lighter than an E90 M3. CLAR made the 7er and 5er lighter but it seems to be porking up the 3er.

Not sure what you mean here. My wife's 2018 F80 has full leather and the optional rear sunshade with manual side shades.

I like the direction the G80 is going.

“The latest M3 should also be lighter and more agile than the previous-generation model thanks to the adoption of BMW’s new CLAR platform. BMW’s M division chief, Carsten Piers, told Auto Express: “We are aware there is a large fanbase for M cars around the world and we will do all we can to excite them and everything we can do not to disappoint them.”
But physically larger, unfortunately.

I wouldn’t get too excited. F90 M5 was hyped as lighter, it ended up being 4370 lbs. The awd system will offset some of the weight loss. Hopefully there is a rumored rwd only version.

...because it will have AWD besides a bunch of other crap. But the AWD weighs a lot

People who say 'lighter car' and 'AWD' in the same sentence should be... examined...

I'm going to buy one and I'm sure it will be faster than the F8X, but I'm sure once it's all said and done it will be heavier. Just like the F8X in lightest trim was heavier than the E9X in lightest trim -- ask me why I know

They say that for every new generation since the E9X M3.
