Can’t Sleep / Non Sense Talk Thread

I’m tossing and turning in bed and just can’t sleep. It’s 3:51am here and gotta be up in about 4 hours at least it’s for a good cause, taking the doggy to the vet for a check up

So figured this might be a good thread for all you night owls or people who simply just can’t sleep.
And also a non sense/random thoughts thread.

I’ll start this up.
I think I can’t sleep since I drank a Monster energy drink earlier and although I always feel as if they don’t hit me, I am reconsidering that thought now lol.

I also feel as if I can’t sleep a lot of times due to my mind just thinking of random and exciting ideas such a business ideas etc.

It’s 2:39 AM here. Woke up in middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep. Been happening for past week or two. Don’t know why.

I stop drinking any caffeinated beverage after 3pm. It's great for the morning but wreaks havoc on your melatonin level at night. Try reading a book on tax laws. That should help.

Stop drinking Monster that shit is garbage and really bad for you. Trust me, I used to drink it, caused me all sorts of issues.

I'm still on AZ time. It's 07:21 there but 15:21 in the UK at the time of posting. Temporarily back in the UK for wife's medical care. Looking forward to returning home. Apparently if you blink your eyes real quick you can induce REM sleep. Keep blinking..

As is CBD, in whatever form you prefer. One gummy, then about an hour later, I'm out like a light.

Missed this thread at 3 am when I woke up. Hurt my back last Saturday and have been having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Haven’t had a good night’s sleep since last Friday. Sucks - tired all day and I have plenty of work to do. But hopefully finally turning a corner today as the pain seems less intense. Or maybe I’m getting used to it.

It's quite common for sleepless nights across the demographic. The energy drinks aren't a good idea in general. How often do you drink those?

The random and exciting ideas that also keep you up aren't allowing your Pineal gland to function. Was there some unfinished business/work during the day?

Do you have a sleep pattern?

That stuff is the bomb to get me to fall asleep. But I find myself super groggy for the first half of the day or so. I just recently stopped taking a 5mg gummy before bed. Slower to fall asleep, but the following day is much more alert.

For me it's a bad back and my thoughts that keep me up. Wish there was a switch to turn off the brain before bed...

I take only 1 gummy, not sure if it's 2mg or 2.5mg, but it's enough for me. And yeah, definitely have the same feeling in a morning, but it's not like half a day, maybe 30mins or so.

Thoughts, haha, I feel you, same thing!

I didn’t drink a Monster today, I substituted with a Powerade. I just drink Monsters because I love the taste. But yea they are really bad.
I’ve tried melatonin before but I only drank it on night when I struggled falling asleep but never consistent so I guess that’s why it didn’t really work for me.

Also another thing I didn’t mention, I’m a night owl, usually working evenings, get out at midnight and don’t crash out til 3-5am at times.

^ i work nights 5:30pm-5:30am and couldn't ever sleep when I got home. Pop 2 mellies (melatonin) and 2-3 glasses of what ever whiskey I may have at the time. And I sleep pretty well. Usually 5-7 hours if I'm lucky.

No coffee or tea after 3PM and before bed (try usually 10PM-6AM,scientists say best sleep time) a 1 km walk with the dog.. no alcohol before bed.
Get up and go for another walk with dog while still quiet.

I've been trying the whole no alchohol thing. I only drank about 8 days out of the month of September. But recently its been hard to stay away from it...though hangin with my dog always makes me happier and lifts my spirits.

Alcohol and sleep make an interesting relationship. No alcohol will render better sleep than a couple drinks for me. However, lots of alcohol will result in some SUPER sleep

Oh man, if you work nights that adds complexity. Is your work schedule static? And is it a mix of days and nights?

Hey, the Powerade is an improvement over the Monster drink!

PTSD here. My sleep patterns are all over the place. Usually get about 4-5 hours a night. On the off chance that I actually get 8 hours of sleep, it's usually interrupted by needing to pee a million times or night terrors. Herbal remedies and lots of sex usually helps.

Bed, 9:30-10. Brain wakes up between 2:30-4. Usually anxiety over work, or cars, or. . . Wife's alarm goes off at 4:30. I usually fall back asleep at 5:15 and my alarm goes off at 5:30

Weekends, if I happen to sleep past 4, I always wake by 5:30. If I lay there for more than 20 minutes with my eyes open, then I go see if there is a soccer game on in Europe.

Random thought: So, if I bought my youngest a new car (2018) should I take the 77 Beetle to mechanic A, B, or C? Drop the engine, total rebuild? Bore it out to 1776? Should I paint it and fix the moonroof before or after the engine? That guy who told me 2 months minimum wait to get started, then probably 1.5 weeks and $1500-2000 for total re-wiring, should I get on the list now, or after the engine, but before the paint?

Worked with a lot of PTSD. Always viewed it as a relapse remitting condition. Great therapies out there that work. My plan was to join the AZ trauma institute but that plans on the back burner. Eric Gentry is a good friend there but many others you could consider too.

Mastin Kipp is worth viewing if you're on Instagrim
