BMW Ultimate Care +1
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have any thoughts on my dilemma? I am purchasing my lease tomorrow and I have the option of purchasing an additional year of service that includes brake pads and rotors for $1799. I know, I know, never pay the dealership for maintenance, I get it. Here are my thoughts (I live in a high-labor market) and I'm currently sitting at 8.5mm and 7.5mm: Pads & Rotors F&R BMW: $3200-$3600 Indy: $2420 Pads F&R BMW: $1600-$1800 Indy: $1085 Seems like if I can get BMW to change my rotors next year I would be money ahead by pre-paying the maintenance for the beforementioned $1799. If they won't cover rotors, it's a break-even at dealer pricing. Of course the package will include filters, wipers, and another oil change, I value that at $250. Thanks! |

How many miles on the car? How are you going to convince the dealership to change rotors if they are still within spec? Maybe have the rotors measured before you decide whether or not this is a good deal.

26.5k - I’ve been able to talk SA’s in the past to replace parts while still under warranty/service plans. Dependent of SA/dealership of course. |

At those ridiculously inflated prices I'd find a friend or make a friend with some jack stands & basic hand tools. Also not sure why you'd need new rotors (or pads) with such low miles?

In the SF Bay area, I was able to find mobile mechanic that does rotor plus pads for 150 per axel. I don't know how much pads and rotors are but the total cost for 4 corners should be less than $1500

Double check that price from BMW's website, you can buy that on your own. I paid $800 for the Ultimate Care + (the one that includes brakes until 36k miles). I asked my dealer for the 75k coverage and if I recall right there was about $700-800 difference between what my dealer said and what ConnectedDrive shows for the exact same coverage.
