I just have a budget for a 2nd car and wanted to know if possible to get this car within $100 range of my budget. I don't have patience or time to shop around so I don't mind paying little more then other guy but certainly don't want to be ripped off.
Appreciate all the replies thus far.

Kind regards.
Since it seems like you're set on shopping monthly payment, why don't you work backwards (or, in reality, the right way) to arrive at a monthly payment that's realistic.

If we were to put a general % off MSRP to aim for on a 3 series, most people on this forum as well as leasehackr would suggest to have a goal of 12% off pre-incentive, and be happy with anything between 8-12% (ideally 10-12%), along with base money factor. Then plug that into a calculator, determine the mileage you want, plug in associated residual value, base money factor, and any incentives you may qualify for. See what monthly payments you can come up with.

I would also say, the process isn't all that time consuming if you know what you're doing. Ideally, all of the negotiations are done through email/phone, and should be as simple as - "here's exactly what I want with the numbers that I want, can you meet me somewhere close to this?" If yes, great you've got a deal, if no, on to the next dealer. Really the only time you should set foot in a dealer is to go in to do a test drive, sign the already agreed upon paperwork, and then again once your car is ready for delivery. If you play your cards right, the negotiation process shouldn't take more than 4-5 days of emails/phone calls with multiple dealers.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, I can't find a definitive answer -- do OL codes and USAA rebates combine with Loyalty and Lease rebates? Can I stack all 4 types of rebates (I'm eligible for all). Local dealers are telling me they can't be combined which was not my understanding...

Yes should be able to stack loyalty, lease, OL, not sure about USAA. I'd find another dealer if they're playing that game.

Hello All,

I am from Toronto, Canada looking to get an M340i and I recently got a quote from my dealer.

The MSRP is $72000 with $1000 incentive, and for a 4years/20000km lease, it turned out to be over $1200/month with 0 down.

What discount should I aiming for?

Thanks!

Walk away if they don’t give you a discount. Aim for around 8%. 10% or more if there are other BMW dealerships around. Mail all the other BMW dealerships after checking their inventory for a car you like.
In some coasts here, $1200 a month gets you an M5.

People are getting M5's at that monthly...

this isn't even a deal, it's a rip off. Don't walk, run away.

Has anyone seen if there is a change in base MF for February? Leasehackr suggests it has gone up to .00142, is that correct?

Contact one of the many lease brokers in NYC/NJ area and they can tell you exactly how much it'll be. Pick the lowest price and go with them. Some of them even have spreadsheets on how much each model will be.

Also, I am looking at a car with some port-installed accessories (e.g. carbon-fiber diffuser, M Performance rear trim). Does anyone know the typical markup on those?

How to get past the '6%' conversation...

Hey Guys!
6 time BMW owner here, don't yell at me too badly but I left for a bit driving a Porsche Cayman S, beautiful car and loved it but looking to get back into a BMW. Working to lease a 2020 BMW M340i xDrive and have reached out to alot of dealers here in the mid/southwest. VERY few are excited about talking about ordering a car with base MF, base residual and anything over 6% discount before incentives. I have heard the same story over and over, no....everyone is getting close to 10% AFTER incentives to which I just respond, spend about 10-15 mins on LeaseHackr and Bimmerpost to find the norm should be 10% + incentives and base everything else.

Anyone have much to add to that in regards to how to overcome that conversation?

Also just for the record David Aviles is just the best, if I was up by him and didn't have a trade I'd be working with him hands down. He's such a great asset to the BMW Family!

Welcome back.

You COULD work with David Aviles. It's usually better to sell your car separately anyway. Try Carvana or Vroom as those seem to give the best values.

If you find that your local market isn't providing anything close to what you're looking at, then it just means it's time to move outside your market. There are others in these forums who have purchased out of state successfully.

As for the discount, you're correct. The "standard" good deal is 10% off BEFORE incentives along with base MF. Residual is non negotiable anyway as BMWFS sets that static, so if a dealer is using residual as a negotiation point then they're just playing games.

GREAT call - thanks! I'll check Vroom, local Porsche dealer and most trade places haven't been great. I'm a bit surprised with the trade value but oh well. Appreciate your help and clarity - will keep you guys in the loop!

Hi All,

Wondering if you could help me on this lease deal. I'm having difficulty figuring out exactly how my CA is arriving at the numbers we're getting.

First question...is there an acquisition fee if we are returning a BMW lease and picking up a new BMW lease?

Otherwise, the numbers for this 330i xDrive are:

MSRP: $54,720
Selling Price: $49,800
36 month/12K annual miles
0.00142 MF
60% Residual
$2,000 loyalty credit
$1,000 lease credit
I'm in NY, so 8% sales tax is paid up front on the entire lease.

My dealer is quoting $6,400 drive off and $410/month.

What do you all think? Thank you in advance!

A couple questions on this. The discount of $4,920, is that inclusive of the $3k in incentives, or separate?

If it's inclusive, then it's a pretty terrible deal. If it's separate, then that's better, but you can still do better. 10% off pre-incentive is the standard "good" deal on a 3 series. Your monthly payment that's being quoted makes me think it is separate, however I'm not certain what the $6,400 drive off includes.

What does the $6,400 consist of?

Thanks for the quick answer! The $3K in incentives is after the 9% discount. The $6,400 drive off includes:

$410 first month's payment
$4000 down payment
$1,825 up front taxes
$240 up front fees

Thanks again!

Got it. So I would recommend a couple things:

1) I think you should strive for a bit more than 9%. You should be able to get 10% off if you expand your search a bit.
2) I would suggest using that $4k in down payment and instead putting it towards MSD's (multiple security deposits). A downpayment on a lease provides very little benefit and comes at a high risk (in case the car gets totaled or stolen). MSD's on the other hand are essentially risk free (unless, you know, you decide to stop making monthly payments), and provide a pretty good "return" in the form of lowered interest.

Just saw you're in New York. Do they allow MSD's? If not, I would just keep the $4k in your own personal account, maybe an investment account or something, rather than paying it towards a downpayment.

Go to NJ or Connecticut to do MSD.

So you have nearly 5k in equity on the Lexus.
Sell it.
Pocket the profit from the lexus sale.
Do a zero down lease on M340 and use that lexus income for MSDs or a vacation.
